so over the weekend i did Jabbas themepark as my last requirement for glowy, and now the force is with me. great! problem is, i do not have a good combat template at the moment. i am level 67 master creature handler and 4402 in carbineer. i don't have any armor (i can no longer wear my pre-CU armor).so then i read on these forums that after getting the crystal from the old man, a couple of level 75+ sith are gonna randomly jump me. even with help of my best CL 70 pet i figure i stand no chance alone.

so anyway, just wondering what advice you all would give me to help me make it to the village. is there any way i can take down these guys in my present state? should i ignore the old man for now untili reachmaster carbineer? do i need to invest in some good armor?

i anticipate this will be the first of many posts i make on this board

oh yeah, and i should probably add that i worked very hard to become master creature handler and i love this profession dearly. dropping it is not an option for me at this point.

i wonder if any CHs have made it through the village quests post-CU...

Very simple: group with some friends CL 80, get them to help you with the sith, all the way to the Village of Aurilia. Jusat make sure that, when you group, you're the Master Looter, and everyone knows to let you loot the Sith AFTER they are all dead.

alright, so the old dude showed up last night and gave me the crystal. so i spent the next few hours in dant bol hunting party trying to build my level up in anticipation of all the sith battles to come. so in one night i went from CL 67 to 71. not bad, but i still don't think i'm ready. think i'll hang out inhunting parties till the sith come and hope that my group mates will help take them down.

btw, i thought i was unprepared atCL 67 and then last night thisCL 20 n00b schmuck kept bugging me to do the warren with him so he can get jedi as fast as possible. when i told him that he wouldn't last 2 seconds in the warren at CL 20 and that he should spend more time building up his template he spat at me and went to bug other people. so basically, this guy wants to convince a bunch of vets to go in and clear the warren for him so he can go collect what he needs for the badges without ever having to do any fighting himself. oh yeah, and he's not offering anything in return for the help.

maybe he'll be lucky and find some vets to guide him thru the entire village quests, padawan trials, and jedi training. he'll become a level 20 jedi without ever killing a thing i have a feeling that this guy will quit the game once he finds out he can't make jedi in a week. arrogant n00b

so i log in yesterday immediately after the server reboot. naturally, not many others are on at this time. so i stroll around outside the mining outpost on dant. and sure enough just as my crappy luck would have it, i hear the attack music and get jumped by two sith, CLs 75 and 77. they incap me before i even have a chance to fight back and steal my force crystal. unfortunately, they use ranged attack, otherwise i could have tried to kite them with my carbine. so after recovering, i go and kill them both one at a time and loot the datapad, which of course is useless as this point. the thing is, i can take down a CL 75 or 77 on their own, especially if i'm the one surprise attacking them, but if two of them surprise attack me at once, i don't stand much of a chance if they use ranged attacks.

so after shuttling to tat, i receive another visit from the old man within about an hour after being jumped by the sith. the old guy doesn't waste much time with me! so now i gotta play the waiting game with the sith again. hopefully next time i'll be better prepared.

i'm sure this scenario sounds familiar to you all. it seems to be the same one that just about everyone here has.
