To get the Free unlocks you had to grind out so many missions prepatch 12 I believe it was.

every 3proffessions mastered pre publish 10 or maybe 12 i believe gave u 1 free unlock

System has been very long gone

it was how many holo profs u did, as long as u did atleast 3

I did zero Holos and got 2 unlocks. In my case just mastering a bunch of profs gave me those 2 free ones.

yes, they didnt have to be in the holo grind, but i do more then 3 are required, seen a calcualtion of it, but cant remeber exact.

publish 9 was the JEDI revamp, it introduced the new trees and allowed jedi to pick two back up professions to defend themselves while at the same time introducing robes, the FRS, new crystal drops, etc etc,

patch 10 was the REGULAR player's jedi revamp, this introduced the village and force sensitivity and proceeded to crash the warren for the next 2 months

Depending on how many of your "holo-professions" you had done before Pub 9, you got free unlocks.

It had NOTHING to do with the total number of professions you ground out, and everything to do with getting those specific professions YOU needed. You didn't have to use a Holocron, you simply had to luck out and grind the right professions.

I got lucky and hit one or two without every using a Holo and got 2 free unlocks, while my brother ground out over 20 professions and only got 2 free unlocks.

Post 9, grinding professions does nothing for you except give you fodder for FS XP. The free unlocks were given so as to not invalidate all of the things people had done pre-9 to unlock.
