I posted this message in a differant thread - but since that thread was nothing but flaming - I thought I would start a new one with my idea.

You know the biggest issue with this whole jedi thing isnt the fact that there are too many jedi - or the fact its too hard or too easy. Like a lot of other adults who play this game we grew up with the old stars wars (4, 5, 6), and our visions of the star wars world is a few jedi - HIDING - not showing off - not acting like they are the kings of the world.

Grant it - it is a game - and yes each of us pay for at least 1 account to do whatever they want. So saying - just delete your jedi - if you have a problem with the number of jedi is also wrong. what they need to do is make it HARDER to survive as a jedi. No not nerf the profession - but make it so you have HARD NPC's that also come after you. create NPC BH's who will also come after you if you get too much visibility. Why not have boba fett come after you if you delete so many player BH (most of who are respec BH who didnt grind the profession and while grinding learn a few simple things - like knowing what your specials do and how to best use them).

Respec was one of the worse things the devs could have done. yes grinding a prof can be boring and yes it can take a LONG time or a very short time to grind a prof (depending on your grind speed), but you at least learnt what each special did - i know when i would grind a new prof - i was excited to learn that new special and try to use it and put it into play. But now with the whole system - a player can master a prof and have no knowledge or respect for their prof. Yes i will admit that i used my token and tried out a few of the other profs - but in the end I went back to the prof i first started, because i grew to love my prof and respect it.

The jedi of the old - were respected, they were the "guardians of the peace" not hot shot show offs that loved to attack new players or go to a busy city and show off. I feel if you are a Jedi of light then if you do things "uncoming of a jedi" you should be punished somehow. Grat it if you a sith dark jedi then by all means they should be free to be corrupt and evil. After all darth vader was. He killed oficers all the time if they upset him. But Luke or obi-won never did purely evil things. So I think instead of just making you choose to be rebel, neutral or imp as a jedi - they should make it so you have a light/dark meter. You do good things you raise your light faction - if you do evil things - you gain dark faction. Kill the peaceful settlers? oops you just moved closer to the dark side - kill the evil hermits - yay you gained light points. Kill someone way below your combat level - there u go moving closer to the dark side. Ok you say - how would a jedi of light be in the Empire - easy - they in hiding or the other way a round a dark jedi as a rebel . Well darth vader was a good guy when he first became a jedi and luke almost got turned to the dark side. In the end darth vader allowed his hatred turn him to the dark side and luke held true to his goodness

If we had a system like that in place it may lighten the amount of jedi showing off in coronet or theed. Yes we may still have a billion jedi in the game - but it is everyone's right to be a jedi - they are paying the smae amount of money as any one else to play the game - so yes they should get the same rights to be and do whatever they want - lets just make it so that what you do as a jedi does have good or bad efects on that jedi.

This Idea sounds like alot of its coming from KOTOR. In my opinion Adding some of that kind of content would make this game a bit more fun. I like the Dark Side/Light Side meter Idea.

Alot of people think I am talking about making the path to Jedi Easier or shorter. All I am trying to say is take away some of the xp requirements and replace them with more missions. for example..

To unlock a branch you must first beat the quest.

Then to unlock a box you must first beat a mission. Then when you`ve done that there should be an amount of xp you earn to train it.

(to Get that xp they should drop conversion rates and make it either

A. Completely different or

A. Completely different Xp. Like beating missions for BH gets you Investigator xp same for FS or

B. Drop Conversion rates so that it doesnt take as much to grind out. Reason being that straight grinding is boring.

Now once you beat the mission unlock the box get the xp the next box would be progressivly harder. Now this is where waiting for the phases should be shortened. Instead of needing only 6 branches you should have a higher requirement say 8 or 10. The to keep people from beating harder missions then going to easier ones once the first branch is trained up is waiting for you to finish the quests to unlock the branches then training the first set of boxes then the 2tier then the 3rd teir and so forth. (taking from the 3rd teir of JTL where you need to beat the missions to unlock them)

This would Increase the time it takes to get Jedi and make it a whole lot more funner in my opinion.

I will agree with you in one aspect. When did it ever become a requirement for a jedi - the old guardians of peace - to kill his way to his title of jedi knight or jedi padawan? I do like the idea of questing to become a jedi. When the village first came out _ i was excited due to the fact I thought that the "holo-grinding" was over and that getting jedi would be more then just master a prof and kill - HOW WRONG I WAS!

But may I also add that these quest should not always be about killing? How about if some of the quest are peaceful? Make it so you have to FIND (no waypoint given) a NPC and then TALK to him. Not the talk levels that there are now - but a NPC with some level of AI and if you say the wrong thing, you fail the test then you must go back to the village and get a new quest and find a new NPC to talk to. Have each players NPC and choose of topics answers be differant - to get rid of the "walk thru guides" Make it fun and make it a Challenge!

You can also make it to where you start choosing between the light and the dark side at this point. Have certain Npc`s that wont talk to you because youve made achoice to follow the dark side. And same for the light. Have those that tell you Youve chosen the path of the light your presence is not wanted.

same here. i also like the npc bh thing even tho he might kill me all the time.It is an awesome idea i would also like it if npc dark jedi with LIGHTSABERS, NOT LIKE THE CRAPPY SITH SHADOWS, would attack u if u revealed yourself doing good things with your force powers.

If in doing quests and stuff this game should be made more like Kotor. Keep the grinding in there. But add more missions. The Devs are getting lazy and just creating more things to fight. Who cares about constantly fighting. granted this is the Galatic Civil War but seriously. Write some missions add something to make the game more enjoyable. Kotor and Kotor2 were big hits. why cant you learn from those games. Doesnt have to be exactly like them just use some of the ides from them.

Couldn't agree more! I also feel that Jedi is all too combat oriented at the moment but come to think of it just what could a full-template jedi do once he has done all the quests and grinding? Help his friends in combat, fend off some BHS and that's about it!
