Thread: Anew idea for jedi
I posted this message in a differant thread - but since that thread was nothing but flaming - I thought I would start a new one with my idea.
You know the biggest issue with this whole jedi thing isnt the fact that there are too many jedi - or the fact its too hard or too easy. Like a lot of other adults who play this game we grew up with the old stars wars (4, 5, 6), and our visions of the star wars world is a few jedi - HIDING - not showing off - not acting like they are the kings of the world.
Grant it - it is a game - and yes each of us pay for at least 1 account to do whatever they want. So saying - just delete your jedi - if you have a problem with the number of jedi is also wrong. what they need to do is make it HARDER to survive as a jedi. No not nerf the profession - but make it so you have HARD NPC's that also come after you. create NPC BH's who will also come after you if you get too much visibility. Why not have boba fett come after you if you delete so many player BH (most of who are respec BH who didnt grind the profession and while grinding learn a few simple things - like knowing what your specials do and how to best use them).
Respec was one of the worse things the devs could have done. yes grinding a prof can be boring and yes it can take a LONG time or a very short time to grind a prof (depending on your grind speed), but you at least learnt what each special did - i know when i would grind a new prof - i was excited to learn that new special and try to use it and put it into play. But now with the whole system - a player can master a prof and have no knowledge or respect for their prof. Yes i will admit that i used my token and tried out a few of the other profs - but in the end I went back to the prof i first started, because i grew to love my prof and respect it.
I will agree with you in one aspect. When did it ever become a requirement for a jedi - the old guardians of peace - to kill his way to his title of jedi knight or jedi padawan? I do like the idea of questing to become a jedi. When the village first came out _ i was excited due to the fact I thought that the "holo-grinding" was over and that getting jedi would be more then just master a prof and kill - HOW WRONG I WAS!
But may I also add that these quest should not always be about killing? How about if some of the quest are peaceful? Make it so you have to FIND (no waypoint given) a NPC and then TALK to him. Not the talk levels that there are now - but a NPC with some level of AI and if you say the wrong thing, you fail the test then you must go back to the village and get a new quest and find a new NPC to talk to. Have each players NPC and choose of topics answers be differant - to get rid of the "walk thru guides" Make it fun and make it a Challenge!
