What do they do for you? Do they let you skip an unlocking quest and you can start grinding on it right away?

Only people with very old account/characters have access to free unlocks. Free unlocks were given to older players who were part way to jedi through the holocron profession grind system before the village went live. No new accounts/characters are able to get free unlocks....ever.
