Ok just finished the all of the required badge requirements and am now glowing and awaiting the old man. I do however have a few questions of which i can't seem to find any relevant posts to that give a definitive answer to. First off typically how long does it take the old man to appear? Seems like some people are telling me as low as 24 hours to someone telling me it took them 2 months. Second when i do get to talk with the old man it looks like my servers phase I is switching over to phase II in a week. Will i have to wait aprox 3 months before i can start to path to jedi or will i be able to jump in at phase II and go to phase II right off? And lastly What are some good methods of getting the old man to visit you. I've heard the not vehicle riding around stay out of major cities and take shuttles and log in out repeatedly, is their anything else i can do to speed things up? Thanks in advance!

just stay around player-ran cities, the old man generally comes within three days. The methods to speed him up are not proven, as some people have not done anything and he came within hours of getting glowy, while some that hopped the shuttles still didn't see him for 3 days or more.

You can start your FS grind in any phase, one quest per phase, 6 fs full trees to unlock, 18 weeks minimum if you have no free unlocks. But if you don't want to lose three weeks, be sure that you finish a phase one quest before we switch over to phase two.

first off congrats and welcome to the long path hehe. Since they have gotten rid of daily server resets, i believe the wait has been slightly longer. but on average, iwould be looking at about 48 hours. 10 of my guildies since 15 weeks ago to now have just about averaged 2 days to get it. NONE of us waited more than 3 days with some as quick as 1 server reset. As for methods to visit you, just make sure you are in the wild. For me that was just on Yavin IV just harvest meat for my docts as per normal, during one of my runs, he came out of no where. But make sure you are on foot, b/c if you are on your speed, you might just speed by and miss him. He is very easy to miss if you are AFK going to your target while on a bike. for the next couple of days just run around (not on your bike) and kill things, just don't go while waiting. There is NOTHING you can do to speed up the process, so just bear with it, it is the luck of the dice and your roll, as to when and where he will visit. Phases and shifting Phases has nothing to do with the old man, so don't worry about that. I believe that you will be able to start phase 2 because even when phase 2 starts you will still have another 3 weeks to complete it, and it is very easy if you chose danjeerin's quest even though it is gated for 3 quests every 24 hour period (you will need 4 full days to finish the gated quests). if you are lucky the old man and the sith might even visit you quick enough so that you can finish phase 1, but don't count on it, and if it happens, consider it an early xmas present to you by SOE. FYI, grinding on combat xp is also not wasted while you wait for the old man and the sith because later you will need to convert these to FS xp. Unless of course, you are already capped in all your skills xp including combat xp which can only store 300,000 xp. anyway, just be on as much as you can, run missions, or just run in the wild, and be vigilant. if you do all of these, he should be here quicker than you think. good luck and cheers.

Just remember, if the old man visits while you are AFK (you get 5 minutes), he will come again.

I dont know where you heard that it took 2 months but as these guys said it only takes 2 days.

Nothing compared to the 3 weeks per phase thing, thats just too long for some people.

Welcome to Hell or other wise know as the FSXP grind. Just think you have fifteen weeks to unlock your six branches then a couple days to see the old man again then defeat Mel before you can start the Paddie trials. Oh since we probably have one more week on phase one try to get that over with as soon as you get your visit that will shorten your time at the village.

Yeah granted its gonna take me a little bit to unlock to paddy but in reality its not that long. 15 weeks in the grand scheme of things goes by pretty darn fast. I play typically on average 3 hours a day during weekdays and a little bit more on weekends barring saturdays when i'm out with friends(saturday being the only day me and my friends have same day off). I don't plan on doing this as fast as possible but gradually anyways. I didn't even originally do this for jedi. I did this for FS melee speed and melee defenses so i could enhance my current template. I just came to the conclusion i might as well just go for the other branches as well since i'm already gonna be doing 2 of them. But like i said i'm not gonna torture myself going for jedi. I have plenty of time ahead of me to play still hehe. Unless of course next quarter my school dumps a huge load on me. My hardest quarter is supposed to be coming up with core hardware tech and advanced networking tech classes. Should be fun but not sure if i'm gonna have time to play more than a hour a day lol. Oh well will be fun anyways
