Thread: Why would making FS totally quest based have been so bad???

After another night of insane grindingI am left wondering why this Jedi route is so unimaginitive. I can't deny that a lot of work went into this from the devs but I really don't understand why they couldn't make this more quest orientated. What would have been so terrible in designing a system with a certain number of difficult and varied quests (and i DO mean above and beyond the easy tree-unlock quests!). These could still be on a timer and even randomly generated so no specific guide could be created. I really don't like the fact that (a) theres an a-b route that everyone knows that is hindered only by time and isn't particularly thought-provoking or hard and (b) that to open your slot all you have to do is essentially re-grind your chosen prof over and over again.
I am sure this has been discussed repeatedly but I really do wonder if a totally quest based system would have meant too many Jedi. This current system doesn't seem to be slowing Jedi production down....in fact I think its just delayed a massive influx due in the coming months.

the grind is really all proportional. After the village, it will take you about 2-3 hours to grind novice lightsaber. After that, it will take you about 5-6 hours to grind your first lightsaber box, then about 12-14 hours to grind the second lightsaber box. After you get your second gen saber (which isn't worth using unless you have enough force) you're looking at about 20 hours to get box 3 in lightsaber.
After all that it starts to get faster. I'm not trying to give you one of those "If you think the grind sucks now, wait till jedi...", I'm just trying to show how the village grind is not really out of proportion to the grinding you will be doing later on.

I've been here, on the Jedi path, since day one, adn agree this needs to be 100% quest. Quest does not need to = easy, or just be kill and make deliveries.

6 branches-12 days. Thats how long the FS grind took me. Now i beleive the FS grind is better than the Holo grind but GOD NO MORE QUESTS. I hate pointless quests. The patrol quest almost made me commit suicide.
NOW the only quest that i think would be awsome would make getting jedi like the hero of tat quest.
EXCEPT make it seriously a bunch harder. Things appear at certain times. 15min windows of oppurtunity. Not a set area for the appearance. That to me would be fun. Makes it so it keeps the jedi population low, makes it so you have to go out and do things in order to encounter the right NPC's/creatures oh it be wonderful.

Even if they made it all quests there will still be just as many complainers then saying "God you made the quests to hard" Look at phase 3 and all those saying how impossible that was. LOL

Now, on to the topic at hand, i hated the patrol quest as well, didn't even bother getting the banner way to boring. Personally I think EVERY quest should be like the phase 3 combat. that was hard, made you think, and wasn't a mindless go to wp kill person return to the guy.

First...... NEVER! I feel the conflict inside you my rival...there is still good in you.
Second...Hell ya phase III was fun, challenging yet though and also had to weigh out the options of grouping more people to help but having a harder quest.
