Yes this is a NEWB question but I haven't found it in any of the guides so I would appreciate a straight answer.

I have been glowy for a while and have even been turning in xp as I accumulate it. I just recently got the notion to seriously persue Jedi.

My question is this:

I know I have to unlock during the phase, but do I have to completely train that tree during the phase or can I train it as I accumulate the XP. In other words, do I HAVE to grind? Or can I unlock and train.......whenever?

Your xp and your unlocks are independent. You can unlock all six branches before working on anything but novice if you want to. The unlocks are tied to village phase. The XP is earned at your own pace.

As a Master Bioengineer, I'm very happy about this. Most MBE's have all their skill points tied up in their profession and related skills, and they aren't very good combatants. All BE activity converts to either senses or crafting. The only unlocks they get are combat-related (reflex and combat).

I figure with a CDEF pistol, a master BE can make Jedi in only 125 years.

once you do the quest to unlock the branch you can learn it when ever you want

so you dont have to learn the whole thing in that one phase
