Thread: Is it still possible to get free unlocks?

Hey all, just something I was thinking about...
Were the free FS branches just for people that did holo profs?
What would happen if I made a new character, ground out all professions, then got glowy and went to the village?
Would I get all branches unlocked... I was just wondering this cos I thought that might be why the devs took the badges out of respec.

Free unlocks are for hologrinding credit only. Once they changed the system, grinding profesions became useless.

they should re-introduce the credit for profession's scheme. It would be worth griniding 2-maybe 3 a week and and geting glowie once u hit 25 profs.
i Had 5 free unlocks and branches filled, i did the silly 20 scout patrol's unlocked the 6th on the same day and 10 day grind of Huurtons and quenkers on Dantooine and that was it. Old man again, Mellichae was dead, Padawan trials done and that was 6 months hard graft over with.
I would rather go prof grinding again than stupid quests that are bugged and dont work at the moment. Given the choice i think most people would rather get 25 professions and then get the glow. Head to the village and u pick 5 branches u want not forced to wait for the next Phase change.

actually, you can still get free unlocks, only if your character was created before the village system took effect. Several people came back after the village who had never mastered any profs, mastered a couple profs while they were doing the village grind, and found out they had earned an unlock or two. The secret profs are still on database for your character, but it had to have been created with the old system.

WHO HOO for me!!! All 3 of my guys have existed since day 1 pretty much so once I get the old man to come see me Im off to the reaces maybe.

only problem is, unless you looked at holo's when they were still around, you'll have no clue as to what profs those might be, so it's a long shot. But hey, ya might get lucky

It does not work, I unlocked pre-9 by mastering 32 professions. So when the frogs came up on test center I wanted to see if its possible that it could give you free unlocks. I used the frogs to master all professions, and became glowy...finally after I became Force sensitive i talked to palamos (however his name is spelled), and he said he had nothing for me. So profession mastering now longer works for the FS grind. Personally I thought it was harder than the current system anyways.
**Side note: according to earlier post you may be able to get free unlocks if your guys is pre 9. But any new chars cannot unlock.

that's because the DB on TC was reset at a certain point awhile back, due to issues with new patches. However it was fixed between TC and live, but TC lost all holo info.

Bit I like not having a clue as to what professions to use. Its a gamble. Maybe the 3 I chose are it. And maybe not. Thats how the Galaxy works right? Not every person who even has Force potential ever become Jedi. Some never know they have it. Others never know that they could have it. But to translate that into a game is hard because every one wants it and is looking to exploit it rather than role play properly. Maybe they loved being a Weapon Smith and a Scout to hunt and gather. But as sure ans the sun rises, folks started sharing and posting the path to become Jedi so anyone can do it and all of the sudden the attitude arises - "screw that, WS/Scout, its weak..I just figured out how to get my character to "miraculouasy be chosen by fate" to become force sensative and I want to be a God so thats the way I am going."
