What are the plans for changing the crafting technique tree now that failures no longer happen when assembling something?

Changes?
Wow thats optimistic

I can't see them changing any of the FS trees until after the CURB at the earliest

I hope you're right though, I just got that tree awhile ago...

I'm not sure why they put some things into the game without any warning and other things they start these long threads in the Development forum. You'd think that if they changed the crafting mechanic they would have changed the FS tree at the same time...

/sigh

You can still have failures, but you won't lose the resources in a critical failure. It just resets the effectiveness to 0. I did this today in the village quest for the senses branch (curing people). Had a few failures, but didn't lose resources. I don't see a point in it either, but hey...

I unlocked it, but I guess I wont pour any crafting conversion XP into it for now and direct those at assembly and experimenting first.

Maybe they change it in the next days or weeks.

Higher chance for an exceptional success in assembly (like you get with the special LS crafting kits when you won one of the phases) would be a nice idea to give the tree new meaning.

Have fun
