If I told you this you might or might not believe it. So I’ve been away for a while and figure bugger it go for Jedi, the new FS systems looks good compared to grinding hell (hats of to anyone that made Jedi) so I asked along standing friend do you get a lightsaber and force powers with the new FS trials? Answer, no this was before I read the FAQ, at the end of the FS trials you get padawan, which sounds nice and presumably at some point you'll get a lightsaber, if you have money and pearls other things Jedi related

So the question I have is;

Who has completed there FS trials and mad padawan and what’s it like?

How long did it take was it fun?

Is it quicker than holo grinding?

The force sensitive system is not fun. The padawan trials are not fun. Jedi is not fun. It took exactly 18 weeks. It is probably a longer system than holocrons.

I did it in 12 weeks and unlocked this past Thursday. I found it fun. Enjoyed the Village and all the people I met there. The grind (hate that word) became long and tedious at times, but I didn't treat it as something I had to do every waking hour of my play time. I took time to slaughter NS, hang out with my guild, whap a Krayt or two and so on. The Paddy trials have been fun too! Neat lil logic questions you must answer correctly. I am going slow with my Jedi and after all that FS work, taking a small break to exhale and get my wits together. Was wonderful to ignite my first saber. Brings a whole new aspect to the game. I am the worry wart type of personality, so xp loss and BH hunting me is kinda overwhelming, but at the same time, its exciting! If you choose to go FS, just make it fun. When it starts to become work, you will become disheartened and pessimistic. Good luck

I don't know if I would go to those extremes, but the grind can be a pain in the a** sometimes and boring. The only way I made it less boring was just do one buff session of grinding per day, and with grenades it would get me much more exp then I needed per phase, so you do have free time. It all depends on how much your willing to put into it for the final goal of just beinga Jedi, and to me that is worth it. Enjoy.

1. Though I have enough FS branches to unlock, I'm waiting until Phase III to try and complete the Experimentation quest again. I found that quest to be rather hard, especially since you have to collect an estimated 200 resource containers to complete the required number of components. I struggle as a crafter (even when I did Medic and was working towards CM after starting), probably because I'm not patient enough with looking for resources, then sitting down and crafting.

2. Depending on my rate of play, I could probably reach Mellechae's quest within the next month or June.

3.I think it's faster, and more fun, than hologrinding because you can utilize a profession that you enjoy rather than grinding through some random profession that you might not enjoy. Fortunately, my three holos were Teras Kasi, Smuggler and Rifleman, which I enjoyed going through. As some of the others have touched on, I think the key is finding some aspect of the FS system that you enjoy and focus on that thing rather than all the negatives that one hears from others.

My current strategy is to pursue a certain number of FS boxes within a certain time frame. Unlike some, I try to convert XP every SWG session instead of waiting until an XP cap (unless it's a really, really small amount) because each amount of XP earned is one step, albeit a small one, towards the ultimate prize.I keep my XP monitor set up with five skills (first three are the particular FS skills from Enhanced Reflexes, Heightened Senses and Crafting Mastery that I'm working on, other two are regular skills I'm working on also) so I can see where my progress is. It's a real morale booster when you see that bar jump after converting about 300k of Combat XP.

Well that’s definitely got me thinking, I’m nearly at the glowy stage just now and I only have to complete the jaba theme quest (and some Jabba faction points, mine are -4000 just now) and that’s me.

To tell you the truth I’ve been away for a while, since last may and I read about the FS quest based system so i had put it off up until now, only because I wanted to read all about it and find out if it was for me, so far I think it is.

Thanks for all the info

It's not that difficult at all. It's only as difficult as you make it.. or rather think it. If you think this grind is boring, it will become boring for you. And if you think it blows, then this grind will blow for you as well.

I find this grind fun, therefore, I am having fun

You have to make it fun.

The quests are fun, yes. It's the countless of hours of mindless grinding in between which aren't fun.

I unlocked last Nov and i think this system is way better then the holocrons. There was nothing involved in the holocrons. Here you first need to get badges which means you actually have to do some fun content things and see cool stuff then you do 6 quests in the village and yes you grind xp to convert. I honestly had fun with it. If you get in solo groups and not talk and only grind then it gets boring. I honestly had a blast with everyone in group chat because we were all grinding so we decided to have some fun also to make it enjoyable. Also you have 3 weeks to fill a branch it isn't hard. The Padawan trials were cool. Kind of long and tedious but it was cool stuff. I am having fun with my jedi to date. On the long 1.6 mil grinds it can get hard and makes you want to quit but after you get that box you get motivated again. People seem to think once they get the saber they think the grind is fine and that they will role play etc. then when they actually get to a certain point they will not say that again. The ones who think "Oh i will just role play and have fun" wait till they fall 600k in the hole they will quickly stop role playing. I am ls 1044 among other things and it does get better but it is still a VERY hard grind and if you over due it, it can burn you out from the game so my best advice to those who are almost initiate or just unlocked, go at your own pace and have fun.
