They mean you can use the Force! When you become Glowy, you should be given a force bar! And then as we progress through the quests we should get some very basic force movies, like a minor Healing skill, or Throw Melee weapon. Yea, these are my thoughts, and comments?

maybe, i alwasy have arguements with my friends, they say we shouldnt, but i think we should
make the "mods" that we get not passive, but "active" so to speak as we "learn to use it"

It's fine the way it is. When Luke and Leia were "Force Sensitive" they had nothing more than some minor nuances - like "feeling" (persuasion) or piloting (related to vehicular skills). They were both crack shots and were not able to manifest their powers into something concrete. Anakin also had vehicular control andsome inkling of persuasion. But that was all. No indication of telekinesis or "mind tricks." Just little things that aided them passively.
Granted, once you go outside the movies into semi-canon material, you start seeing reports of force sensitive novices manipulating, unknowingly, objects around them through telekinesis. While that might be whimsical, I'm sure it would, in the long run, annoy people who are trying to move things around their house only to have it float every5 minutes.

Yeah and before he was jedi he could use a LS and Han used a LS....and also b4 he was a jedi he could use the force to guide the LS in han's ship to protect himself from droid.....yeah lets think about the movie....

Ah well. You're getting into semantics, and I can easily argue the opposite, that being the current implementation of the system, with slightly different connotations of the words. Yay for semantics.

not arguing hon...but at least anyone could use a LS...this game is nowhere close to movie as far as jedi go or FS

Wow, Bea25, you just restated what I said. Good job. I didn't see him using any "specials" with the lightsaber. No fancy footwork or throwing. And sure, Han pressing a button and using it to slice open a Tauntaun sure is a hefty force trick. I wonder which one it is? Force-Tauntaun-Slice-2? How much HAM does it take?
And like I said, guiding the lightsaber is one of the examples of the passive skills I've stated - no fancy skills, and it's "passive" the way it is right now. Ranged defense, anyone? Muscle control, anyone? Thanks for reinforcing what I've said already.

Blah, sorry about that. Thought you were one of the regular "OMG I R USING CAPITAL LETTERS SO I R BETTER" 1337 dewds who just love to "argue" -writing your reply while I was stillwriting mine. I'd guess you could say the lightsaber worked for him as it was tuned by someone who was in his family. It wouldn't matter anyway. Even if someone were able to use a lightsaber, it's like using a CDEF pistol or heavy axe against a melee stacker. I don't think it'll be that useful.

What part ofattacking/using a weaponis passive?? I was merely adding that that is an example of a non passive skill...

"Passive" as in the way it is currently implemented. I'm against anything "active" like the original user states like "force throw" or "force-shift-vector-of-kinetic-ranged-weapons-so-it-hits-the-target." (The difference with the latter and its current implementation is that we are meant to think that melee accuracy is due to heightened senses and ability to "track" the target instead of physically causing a bullet's vector to change.)

Well, been playing my character as someone who is somewhat force sensitive, and only recently has his ablilites started to manifiest....since he is a master musician, that means he is twice the charmer he used to be....
But...being somewhat thick...Arithon can't figure out for the life of him why girls are suddenly chasing him....(and the rpers love it!)
Obviously, I don't always take the game seriously. Telekinsis is so...xmen...but being able to charm the moon from the sky and develope the bardic silver toungue...that fits any genre....and it's priceless....and different...
Of course, when he hits initiate, going to have to come up with an explanation as to why he suddenly retired from the cantina circut....but got time...
As for the actual mechanics....That is a point that the great grind is a way to weed out the not so committed or those who would kvitch all the time...but there will be those who will always make it thru the screening process, no matter what.
I do think there will be a time when there won't be so many jedi on the servers too...If only because there are those who are heading to WoW or EQ2, or those who get banned, or those who, having played Jedi a while, decide to try a new profession, or start over. Just be patient.

I had a tasty idea. Lets go ahead and let force sensitives have all that stuff. Let them try to use a lightsaber and throw it. Force healing... the whole thing. Only it's like crafting experimentation. You fail at using the lightsaber you cut off your own leg. Try to use force healing and fail, you force zap instead.
I mean, if anything, it will be entertaining watching n00bs chop themselves to pieces trying to be a Jedi

I'd like that skill, just so I don't have to use the /move command
