I have looked around, however have not gotten any definite answers.

If this is true then I am cancelling my acount now. I have about three days left on this month, so its no big deal for me. With the 30:1 combat XP nerf, then this, it is quite obvious that SOE wants any casual players to leave the game. There is no end-game content besides jedi, so to say that I shouldn't get the end-game content because I am a casual player, is quite rediculous.

From appearances, it looks like each mobs total xp is split among all the members of the group with a small group bonus applied. So if a mob used to give 6k xp with 6 members in the group you would each receive 1k xp plus a small group bonus.

When soloing the same mob, you would receive the full 6k xp.

End result, assuming this is the case, is grouping is lightyears less beneficial than it used to be, but it is still marginally (and VERY marginally) better than soloing now.

This is HORRIBLE news for both folks trying to get a normal elite profession (especially those that really need groups like Squad Leader, Doc and CM), and for FS or Jedi grinders.

As Tiggs has mentioned in the Pub22 discussion thread, he is not convinced this is "Working as intended" yet and he is investigating now. So there is still hope this will change for the better.

Just an FYI, Tiggs is a Woman.

The wonderful thing about SOE is that you never know what they are going to do next. Now you dont even know what they have done intentionaly and what is a bug. In the update notes for the current publish it states that group xp had been changed, though it was rather vague concerning the exact details. So is it working right or is it all screwed up? No one knows but the devs, and as usual they wont tell anyone. Am I the only one concerned with the fact that whenever something in this game is fixed in ends up working worse than it did in the first place? Who does SOE's coding a monkey? If this happened once in awhile I wouldnt complain, but it happens after every patch. I mean cmon lets make sure things work before they are put in game guys.

Its true, I cancelled all mine accounts. This broke the camels back for me. Once SOE has no clients and they realize that making the game fun would actually keep clients, people will come back.

I've only logged on once in the past couple days and I was up in space that time so I haven't joined any groups since this latest xp nerf. What I'm curious about is what impact this will have on the ability for low cl players to find a group. As a CL80 character myself I never had problems, but I noticed that people often don't want to invite lower CL players simply because they feel their dps will be much lower (whether it's true or not). With a massive drop in xp for groups will CL80 groups be willing to share what little xp they are getting with a CL50 or so character? It seems to me thatif people have to split their xp evenly with everyone in the group they're going to want to have people in the group that also evenly split the "work". This could become a fairly big problem for new players.

It is going to become a big problem. Think about it there are not going ot be any 8 member groups anymore. The groups will probably be no larger then 3 or 4 people to maxamize the distribution of the xp. Not just that higher cl people are going to want to go as fast as possible and unless a person is atleast a cl 54 more then likely they are going to have a fairly low damage weapon so the higher cls are not going to be as open to inviting them to their group. This just plain sucks, it going to create hate and mistrust across the game and what ever happened to the multiplayer in this game it is a MMO is it not.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I think we can expect to see a lot more "CL80 hunting group LFM" being spammed at MO and Lok.
