Anyway, a guildmate completed phase 4 melee defense and said the old system (where you just need to get a hit on a sith to get credit) is gone.

Now you must be the one (or part of the group) that does the most damage.

Can anyone confirm this? Is this new?

(and where was the announcement??)

The way it is now is the person or group that does the most damage gets credit for the kill. Pre CU all you needed was one hit and you got credit. Jump in a group and focus on one target at a time it will go quick and you should be fine.
