It did nothing before, with the new loot revamp it increases not only rate of drop, but better quality of item dropped.

Let me preface this by saying that I did try the search feature here, but mostly what I got were lists of the skills themselves, or else posts saying that no one was sure what it did. I have read everything from increased loot drops to better crafting results to increased saving throws. . . I just wanted to know if people actually know what it does. Or, since this is SWG, at least what it is supposed to do.

Yeah this has been agued to no end, problem is, very few pp put forth some solid numbers, popular consensus
is that it increases the credit drop from npcs that you kill, although some have said they have seen an increased drop
of better loot after training some luck, while others have agued the oposite, in any case, I openened up the tree and
intend to train it, just to know, I recently discovered that I could drop my force sensetive skills as well, were as before I
was led to believe that that could not be done, so if I see no advantage to luck, Ill just drop it.
