Thread: getting a kickass computer for this game

thinking of building a kickass computer. Want an AMD 64 FX-55 pocessor, 256mb Ati raedon video card with 2 GB of memory. anyone have any tips or news on these products for the game, let me know. i'd appreciate it. thanks

well i bought a $500 nvidia 6800 and a $ 700 compac with amd athlon xp and i have no complaints

I was told that since windows xp is a 32 bit system that the 64 bit processors will default to 32 bit!

yeah, nothing can really take advantage of the 64 bit processors yet.

YEAH, how about a FS PHase 4 processor and a Paemos Monitor, because this thead has nothing to do with this forum.

If you are already spending that kind of money on hardware, I would recommend 2 74GB Western Digital 10k RPM Raptor drives in a hardware RAID-0 configuration to speed up initial loading times and disk access times.

I would also recommend disabling your page file to prevent the massive swapping to and from disk that SWG is famous for. I run 2 clients on a machine with 2GB of RAM and no page file and notice zero performance problems when tabbing between the 2. If you enable the page file, there will be some delay.
