Okay..so I decided to visit the villiage yesterday. As soon as a get there I talk to the guy and converted all my xp into FS Combat xp, and had enough for 1 tree. I chose melee accuracy. Wow..my first branch in less than 5 minutes?! Alright! Then I get the mission and choose melee defense. Okay, spend ALL night working on the mission and guess what...Noldan wont teach me! Someone told me I had to unlock the novice box first..okay..grind it out for an hour, come back, pick up novice. STILL wont train me. I heard of phase 4 being buggy, so I wasnt too dissapointed. I continued to grind to convert xp for melee speed so I could sell my attachments. Get enough for melee 1 and..yes, no skills I can learn! I should have 2 1/4 branches..but I only have 1. WHAT THE ----!!!!

I didnt know that the melee speed was buggy too!!!!!!!!!!

Im just gonna sell my speed stuff, become a crafter and play on my BH all the time.

I believe your problem is this... You first converted all your XP into Combat FS XP, but you unlocked Melee Defense which is Reflexes FS XP. The XP you converted into the Combat will not give you XP to level up the only branch you unlocked from the quest (Melee Defense) The only bug going on with phase 4 is Sarguillo will not converse with some players who either unlocked Ranged Speed last phase 4, or Melee Defense last phase 4. He keeps telling us that we are done there and need R&R.

You converted to the wrong type of FS XP. Next time try reading the guides.

no no no..listen. I did the mission, and supposidly got the branch. I talk to the guy and he said i cant learn it.

THEN i decide to try and learn melee speed, and when i had enough he STILL wouldnt teach me.

(It might not be FS combat, not sure what it is, thats what i thought it was)

Dont mean to come across as a flame..

First off you really do need to read the FAQ guides, very helpful and will prevent these kind of mistakes in the future. Currently Phase 4 can unlock Ranged Speed,Melee Defense, Healing, Repair. The 2 combat profession types, Ranged Speed uses Combat FS exp and Melee Defense Uses Reflex FS Exp. There are a total of 24 boxes required to fill.6branches 4 boxes apiece. Its a long pain in the butt process. Melee Accuracy was unlocked through phase 3, Speed in Phase 2. You can only "unlock" what the current phase is. The novice box will allow you to see and "fill" all the boxes for that prowess tree, but you can only train in the branch(s) you unlocked. Hope this makes sense...

Example: Lets take the combat prowess tree

Phase 1 RangedAccuracy

Phase 2Melee Speed

Phase 3 Melee Accuracy

Phase 4 Ranged Speed

So if it is your first time in the village now (Phase 4)and you train novice Combat Prowess, you can only unlock Ranged Speed. MeleeDefense would require the novice Reflexes Branch. You will have to wait for the next phase change to train in a differentbranch. 1 unlock per Phase would mean at least 18 weeks needed to unlock without freebies if you had em.If I made an error somewhere someone by all means jump in and correct. Im writing this half asleep. lol Good Luckto you though

I guess the accuracy was my free branch or something..knew i shouldve gotten speed. -sigh-
