Before CU, nearly every jedi or aspiring jedi was TKM, due to the defense and toughness ability. Now, post-CU, what profession would be good to have? I am force sensitive with one Aurillian quest to finish (phase 1) and 600k force xp left to earn.
I am TKM. Should I add another elite profession? Or should I rely on group grinding for the xp? Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Right now Jedi exp is screwed. Solo is hashed as it takes alot of force to kill 1 creature and the regen takes forever. We are pretty much forced to group and getwill end upon the terms if not done correctly. Some still take TKM, some pick up ranged, others dabble with the defensive lines in Tk swords, and pikes.

I found it harder with TKM, which was disappointing since I had been a TKM since the dawn of time just about. I ended up dropping it and respeccing to Swordsman just because of the better damage output. Still has decent defense mods along with armor.

I am TKM and Swords with some pike and fencer. I am happy overall with the defenses, but to tell ya the truth, with a ranged profession I never had a problem with my action running out. Now, I can only go for a few minutes then my action bar is shot. It drives me nuts.
I am in the same boat you are. I would like a ranged profession, but the thing is, all ranged it seems sacrifices defense for offensive skills.

TKM still seems the best choice for new Jedi for me. Only way I was able to solo anything as a New Padawan one was Inate TK Armor and Advance Center Of Being. The general Melee and Accuracy seem to work for Lightsabers. Any extra general mods from other elite melee skills aslo come in handy.
