I have fought the ::bleep:: sith 3 times.. and killed them. all 3 times the waypoint said "you cannot make since of the information on this disk."

I know this is not the answer you want but just gotta keep killing them till you get a readable one.

I've had this happen several times on TC, usually if I looted the datapad before killing all the sith. So kill all the Sith before doing any looting and (hopefully) you'll get a functional datapad.

This happened to me 3 times before I finally checked the boards for answer. Do as the others have said and kill both the Sith before looting either of them. Worked for me just yesterday.

Wise words, this happened to me twice then someone here pointed out the bit about killing them all first then looting & it worked first time just the other day.

I looted before both were killed and when I tried to use the stupid thing it told me that I had to eliminate both sith before I could read it (or some such message). Note it was *not* the message saying I couldn't make sense of it. That happened the first time. Anyway, when I got the message that I had to kill both sith (even though they were both dead already!) I got frustrated and stuffed it in a bag.... and promptly got the waypoint I needed to continue!

About the "can't read" message.... that happened to me the first time I was attacked by the sith. They came to me and attacked before I'd finished loading and incapped me. I got a friend and we managed to take them down. When I looted, I got that message. The only time it worked for me was when I'd killed them (with help!) before they'd managed to incap me.

Yep, kill them all first and if you are grouped make sure no one else loots...period.
