Thread: Question about a possible mistake on my part (newb question)

I just got to the village this morning.

I had NO IDEA that what I asked the old man about determined what quests I would be taking.

I ended up getting sent to the guy who does the Vehicle Control quests. I obviously would rather have done Melee Speed quests. Well, I found out I am stuck with the vehicle control quests now.

My question is..

Would I be better off just not doing this quest and waiting until this phase ends and start off better when Phase 3 starts... or to just go ahead and do the quests and get them done?

Thanks in advance for the info (and hopefully not making fun of me too much).

The Vehicle Control quest results in a nice health buff crystal so I would say it is worth the time. It is really a low risk quest in the end. Once you unlock that branch you don't have to train it, and you can just bank your xp for the next time around when you unlock the Melee speed branch.

My 2 cents

I say go ahead and do the quests for vehicle control.

First off, the reward is pretty nice - +2,000 health is nothing to shake a stick at, even if it's only once every 3(?) days...

Second, you need 6 branches total, meaning that this phase (and the next one) will roll around again for you, so you'll have another chance to get it before you're completely finished.

Third, you can always unlock/train a 7th branch and drop this one later.

Hope that helps!

My sentiments exactly. I just did vehicular control because after the 4 essential ones, you need to pick 2 that are less usefull, and sometimes useless. I took vehicular control too, not because i can turn sharper with my barc, but for that +2000 health crystal which is very usefull.

Get Melee and Range defenses, melee speed, melee accuracy and then pick 2 that fit your unlock schedule.

You will have to train it to unlock the Padawan trials, but then again, you could just wait another 3 weeks and unlock/train something else. I guess it depends on how patient you are?

If you want to be done with the FS grind ineighteen weeks, then I would highly recommend doing the vehicular control quest and filling all 4 boxes.

You have to remember that its going to take yousix phases before you can be done anyway, so this phase will come around again for you intwelve weeks or so and you can then do your melee speed quest. If you are too picky with the FS skills that you want then it could take you much longer than 18 weeks to become Padawan.

You will find that most people will end up with atleast one or two FS skills that they dont necessarily want, so don't feel like your alone.

That's a good question. What everyone will tell you is to look at the stickies at the top of the forums and make a plan. Plan out exactly which quests you will take in order to get the best skills and rewards for your playstyle. And then you'll also know which FS skills to train for, you don't want to accidentally conver xp to the wrong type and waste a whole day of grinding.

IMO, Vehicle Control is one of the better quests to take. You're stuck with it for this phase, might as well do it. Also know that it is widely regarded that none of the skills you learn at the village are really that important. Some nice BE clothes can duplicate any of the advantages these boxes grant. And lastly, remember that while you HAVE to do 6 missions, there's nothing stopping you from doing 7 or 8 or all of them. In fact, if SP is an issue you can even drop FS boxes and pick up others even after you get jedi (as long as you always maintain 6 full trees). Good luck.
