So in order to become force sensitive (after the visit from the old man) you need a good fighter template?

no . . . but 2 of the 4 FS trees use weapons and combat experience for trade. The SIth you must initaially fight are over CL70 so combat skills (orgrouped friends) are needed there.
I would say that moderate combat skills are recommended (at least 1 elite mastery),say CL54 . . .but you could be a full crafterand unlock the 6 trees needed to get to jedi (4 crafting and 2 survey).

ok, thanks a lot for the reply.... Hope I'll get around to it soon, if i ever give up my master merchant/tailor/architect

It is highly recommended and will gicve you less of a headache if you are
