Thread: Delaying the village after gaining FS possible?

Okay, I'm relatively new to SWG. I've been playing since the end of August. I'm one content badge away from getting a visit from the old man. I expect this will happen sooner rather than later.
Now, after I get my visit, and get my 1st Sith visit. Can I delay going to the Sith camp to get the way for the village and hence delay the village until I decide I'm ready to go? There is still alot I want to play around with before I go down this road...

Might as well get the old man and sith out of the way. You gain no advantage from putting it off and there are no disadvantages to doing it. What makes it worthwhile is if you are a master in a profession and have maxed your experience points, you can convert them to FS experience so future experience points in that skill are not going to waste. Every time you max out your XP, just pop into the village and do a quick conversion. Once you are ready, you will have all that FS XP banked which will save you a lot of time in the long run.
Also you cannot delay going to the sith camp that opens the village. You don't go to them, they come to you. However, as Caerid_Loc said, they are easy to kill (700 HAM or so?), so it isn't a big deal at all.

Yeah you can wait. you could even go to the village, do some quests, stop and do something else like space missions or regrind template, whatever. it doesnt matter how long you take as long as you unlock and fill 6 branches. most people want to get it done as quickly as possible though.

delaying the sith camp? i have not heard of anyone doing that, so am not sure. they are super easy to kill, so i would recommend just taking them out. you dont have to go to the village immeadiately. it'll be there when you are ready. additionally, it doesnt matter what phase you go in, you can start in any one of them. just read up a bit on the fs or jedi forums so you know what you are going to be focusing on. it makes it easier with the info.
