Thread: clarification on unlocking and on training....

I have a question that I have gotten numerous answers to and need to confirm whats right and wrong:
If I, during a certain phase do the quest to unlock a certain tree, can I train it at anytime or only during that phase?
I have been told that once I unlock the tree by doing the certain quest that I can train that tree whenever I want, but would have to do that phases quest before I can train anything.
Is that correct or can I only train a certain tree during that quest it was unlocked during?
I had someone at the village tell me he was training a tree that was unlocked for phase 1, but we were now in phase 4, he said he could train it just fine and that as long as you had it unlocked during phase 1, could train it whenever you had time.
Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am personally training a tree I unlocked during phase 2, so the answer from someone doing it, is YES you can train a tree anytime you want. You must only unlock during a current phase.

thanks for an answer, now the only other thing is, do I need to do the quest for the phase I am in before I can train that previous phases tree?
Reason I ask is, last night I tryed to train on something from phase 1 (which I unlocked) and it said there was nothing I could train, but I hadn't finished the current quest for phase 4yet?

Okay here it is.
You must complete the quest within the phase. If you don't complete the quest nothing bad happens other than you don't get an unlock for that phase. You can train at anytime you want. You must train the novice box before you can train the branch you unlocked. See Noland at the village he is next to the south gate. He will train you in the novice box. If he wont train you, you probably did not unlock a branch, ie didn't complete the quest, you don't have enough FS exp to unlock the novice box, or you are bugged.
