This is how I do it.
1. Go to a lair and tap it (or if im fast i can get it down to half of its hitpoints to bring out more spawn)
2. When there are more than 10 (usually 13 ) monsters out I hit feign death.
3. I wait until the feign death command fades from the combat list before using /stand
4. This works 75% of the time but sometimes still only 5 aggro me... Then i repeat from 2 and it might work.
I know there is no "right" way but if someone has an alternative way please post it!

speak for yourself, jesus, now we are ignorant enough to expect everyone to do things as quick as possible and not try to enjoy it one bit... I'll be glad when the grenades get nerfed again.

first of all, why nerf them now.....the grenade grind has been around forever.....I and many many others used it to grind combat xp to master elite professions during the holo grind...they didn't nerf it then...they shouldn't nerf it now....besides, it's 10x the money maker now then it was a year ago....WS should be happy, the community is spending millions for crates of nades.

Secondly, there is nothing enjoyable about grinding7 million FS xp, that's somewhere around 223,500,000 weapons xp...basically for a person with no free unlocks, you would have to cap an elite profession 225 times or so to get all the FS xp you need....now how can you call that enjoying the game......grinding is boooorrrrringg....it's the prize at the end that keep most of us going.

PeteStreet

I have heard that it depends on if your in a group or not on how many creatures arggo you.....personally I grind 75% of the time ungrouped and when I tap a lair to empty it and then use my nades.....any creature within the blast radius arrgo's me and takes damage from my nades.....I always have 9 pikets on my when I'm using nades.....

It doesn't matter much to me thought because after I kill all those that's arggo'd on me, I use whatever weapon I have equipped and get the weapons xp......so in the end, I'll have capped weapons and combat xp....I say don't worry about it...just kill the strays after your done with the first group..

I thought only 5 creatures can aggro you at the same time? Is this not the case?

The others are still around you, but arent attacking you until one dies, then it steps in.

it's called not rushing it, if you don't beat the grind wait till it comes back around. When you make it seem like work, for something that's only going to get nurfed more and more as more population becomes jedi, it doesn't make sense. With each phase rolling around now expect an average of about 50 jedi per phase (dependant on server and phase, etc. etc.) and soe's commited stance on making jedi not be an imbalance to the game, they gave up on rariety because people cryed with the hologrind system, now with everyone with the "commitment" or the insaine daily hours to do it, a great portion of the jedi cry that they are underpowered... what do you expect really..

Sorry, but my main point is if it's not fun... why are you doing it? your paying for work. Once something get's repetitive and boring... do something else, it'll still wait there for you. You can make everything in this game fun, hell go grind your xp with a group on nightsisters or something, you have 3 weeks to do it, no reason to rush a whole phase into one or two days. The same "rushers" with the hologrind system were also the first to complain about nurfs... again it's not a prize, it's hard mode...member?

regardless, have fun... and I mean it. (otherwise what's the point?)

well the general belief is that only 5 can arggo you....but the truth is that you can catch arggo from more than 5 but only 5 or so can attack you at once.....for instance, when you attack a lair, every mob near that lair will enter arggo, but some will attack you and others will heal the lair....there is a max arggo limit too....they just wait in line while they are arggo'd on you.....so with using nades, the blast radius will damage all arggo'd mobs within it's blast radius whether they are attacking you or not.......

One way you can tell how many creatures arggo you is the color of their name will change to red...unless of course they are already aggressive in which case their names are already red.......but go fight some pikets (only aggressive when you attack them).....tap the lair until all 9 are spawned (if you can damage it fast enough before they heal it).....then notice as each piket's name turns red and charges you....if you have max arggo already, they'll either heal the lair or wait until you kill one and they will replace it.....

It's also possible that all arggo'd mobs do attack you but there's no way of knowing since they all have the same general names and you can't distinquish which creature hits you when you read the combat log. You definitely can tell with npc's though since they each have different names....

I know for a fact though that npc's go well over the believed 5 arggo limit...I've been in the tusken raider camp and had 12 of them attacking me at once...I even have screenshot's....back in those days I was proud because I killed all 12 of them and I was only novice fencer.....yeah I was wet behind the ears...LOL

Ok, here'sonescreen shot, theres 11 on me and 1 shooting from long range....and the 5433 damaging hit was from a rifleman offscreen who shot a one as he was running by.....Tusken War Party

Your problem here is, your not letting the critters all spawn first.

Dont wait for the FD to leave combat log, wait for the critters to stop spawning from the lair. You can see them spawning by see'ing the -number coming from the lair when FD.

I used Tab when FD to cycle through them all to see if 15 have spawned or not.

In other words, be patient and wait a little longer.

I understand your point....and i agree that you should make the game fun....but whether you take your time grinding or not....it's still boring. See, whether you grind all 7 million FS xp now or break it up into smaller sessions, it's still boring....hell, all grinding is boring....but that's the dues you have to pay....achieving your goal of being a jedi or getting those FS lines to add to your template is the reward and once you get there the game will be more fun as you will be doing something you more likely will enjoy. I don't know about anyone else, but even with the penalties to jedi when dying and perma overt....I welcome it and feel a sense of excitement to live the life of a jedi In game.

Now how I look at the grenade grind is not that i'm rushing to get to jedi but that I want to speed up when I do grind by using grenades......I'm not rushing to grind anything, but shortening my time when I do grind is a great thing.....the quicker my short grinding sessions go, the more time I have to enjoy doing other things in game.

See for me, I finished all 6 of my branch unlocks 6 weeks ago (got 3 free unlocks).....I only have xp to grind.....about 1 million or so left. I grind with grenades maybe 3 times a week....I play on TC very often, I participate in all the beta's and testing, I fly in space, I do all kinds of quest and general missions from npc's and poi's, I hunt for rare loot, I try to get involved with in game events (although my playing times are not the norm) and lastly, I play many other games during the course of the week....and sometimes I don't even play SWG at all during a week....just last week, I only played madden 2005 and beta tested a new MMORPG that just came out.....later this month, I'm involved in the matrix online beta testing....

See I do much, much more and have fun while doing it.....good thing I'm self employed and my own boss...so I can make time whenever I want......I can be a casual player some weeks and other weeks I'll play 30 hours.......but my whole point is that we have no choice in how boring grinding is.....don't get me wrong, you can grind with friends and make up all kinds of fun stuff to do while grinding....but truth is that doing it that way is not efficient.....it cost millions and millions of credits to grind and personally I like to get my money's worth out of buffs, armor, weapons and the time I have to play the game....so I rather find ways to speed up my grinding while still being efficient overall...

I"m not complaining about the grind as all RPG's have some sort of grind....in fact I love combat above all else, that's just me, but I shouldn't have to be forced to grind in a specific way just because the devs or community members feel like there are too many jedi and so they want to nerf stuff and make the game even longer to play.......see when I become a master jedi, I'm still gonna be here playing SWG....I don't get bored easily and I am extremely creative...plus I like to help people if I can in anyway......So combat, helping people in need, becoming the best at what I do, getting the most out of the time that I do have to play and makingfriends and justenjoying the gameare the things that I think is fun......If I had my way though, I would not grind.....guess that's why even though I wanted to become a jedi back in the hologrind days, I didn't grind.....In fact, to this day I have still only mastered 8 professions with my main character when I can easily master 20 of the professions in 2 days for each.

Fun is different for different people....slow is fun for some, fast is fun for others...we all have different play styles...so just because one person likes to do things fast doesn't mean they are not having fun and enjoying the game.....but still Grinding is boring no matter if you do it all at once or in sessions....what can you say, it's repeativeness.

I know I got carried away with my reply....that's just me though.
