ok, I did my 8th paddy trial mission and crafted my training saber and tuned my crystal. When i try to use the saber, it says "LOW FORCE". I checked and i don't see a force bar by my HAM.

Is this how it is now, you cannot use your training saber until you finish the 16 trials? or is it a bug? I've talked to jedi that did the trials pre-CU and they said I chould have a force bar. Has anyone did it post-CU? I've sent a BUG report in but haven't heard anything yet.

And before anyone says it, i have checked the stickies and seen nothing on it.

Before the CU, you got a force bar on initiate (from what I understand), either that or the training saber had a zero force cost.

This allowed initiates to grind out their novice boxes with zero visibility.

Now it seems they have added FC to all sabers, even training and if you're going to get Jedi skills, you must risk gettign vis.

hiya,

i did the paddy trials shortly after the cu hit..u can't use your training saber until you've finished all 16 trials. needless to say at the time i was a bit frustrated cuz i wanted to flash that thing..lol..but once you've finished your 16th trial u will get your force bar and be able to use ur saber till ur hearts content.

Lol how totally bs is that? Even younglings get sabers! What good would a padawan be without a ls? Devs I think you'd better reconsider this.

As an initiate, you are not a -padawan-, you are doing the trials to BECOME a padawan. That is why you are not able to use the lightsaber. Nothing to reconsider at all, it makes perfect sense.

There is still the fact that younglings have training sabers, sureley they are classed as initiates?

OK, i guess i'll have to wait to use my saber.. I do think that they should make the craft your own lightsaber the last trial but then again that would make too much sense, wouldn't it? ...lol

Thank you to everyone who answered.

Last time I checked the younglings were also confined to the Jedi building and not allowed out. They also had someone to teach them how to use it. You are not a youngling you are an adult learning to do things without a real teacher. I think it makes sense that you have to learn to a certain degree before your adult mind can focus on a weapon that only weight is in the handle and you have to "sense" where the blade is so that you do not cut off your own arm.

PRE CU you were able to use the training saber after the crafting trial as it had no force cost associated with it. The force bar was granted after finishing the trials and earning the padawan title and robes. Now POST CU all sabers have a force cost, even training sabers. Because you do not get your force bar till the end, you cant use it till then. Stupid yes, but you can also craft a 4th gen saber with only novice LS now instead of at MLS.
