Thread: You must loot that before reading it?!?! Do I have to delete my crystal LOL YOU GOTTA READ THIS!

Ok as I was writing that second part I got attacked again!!!!!! So that was witihhn 2 mins of each other. During the fight I deleted both unreadable datapads, and after i killed them it worked. So note to self and for other people delete old non working datapads......
DAMMIT AS I WAS WRITING THIS TWO SITH ATTACKED AGAIN!! AND I KILLED BOTH WAITED TILL THE FIGHT USIC STOPPED AND IT DID THE SAME THING NOW I HAVE TWO DATAPADS THAT I CANT READ!!!! ACK WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!? DO I NEED TO DELETE THESE DATAPADS?
I killed the sith and got the datapad but i cant read it. It said underquests i have a checkmark by sith ambush, but i logged oiut and back in to attempt to fix the datapad. Now the sith ambush and checkmark are gone and just visit by old man is thre. Does that mean it reset itself and the sith will soon be back? Or do I have to delete my crys

This happend to me also. The sith should come back for you in a day or so.

lol it happened to me also, go home and drop the datapad in your house then pick it up that should work if not move datapad into a container or backpack then try n read it

I also had this problem 3 times..
I found that the way to do it is to kill all sith Shadows before looting any of them, so when they are all deadloot them..
This worked fine for me.

1. Deleted your Looted Datapads.
2. Then Wait for the Sith.
3. Use Loot form the Radial Menu.
4. Do not use a LOOT MACRO
5. Go to the Camp.
6. Fight the Sith.
7. Go to the Village.
8. Welcome to the Grind!

Here's the secret.
When you do it successfully, and you loot by opening the body and looting the datapad you get a message onscreen that says :
"Mission successful investigate corpses for information" or something similar.
if you don't see that, you wont' be able to read the device.

If you lose your crystal at any point even if you kill them and it says Task complete Misson: Loot the 2 sith to see where they came from you will not be able to read it.

Yes, this is a common issue/bug. A pain in the ass to say the least. I must have gotten lucky, doing quests and have yet to be bugged on anything since I became glowy
