Right now I have MBH, 4000 brawler, 1000 commandoand novice medic and I am capping out at 170k. It just gave up novice CH but my cap was the same when I had that.

XP caps are always twice the value of your top trainedbox that requires that type of xp. Your top box that requires combat xp must have required 65K combat xp to attain, twice that is 170K. Most elite combat masters have a weapons xp cap of 900K (level 4 box requires 450K to attain) and a generic combat xp cap of 300K (level 4 box requires 150K to attain).
You need to achieve a box requiring more than 65K combat xp to raise your cap. Novice CH does not require combat xp to attain, hence your cap did not change when you dropped it.

Pick up more Commando (grenades line), your cap should go up. Besides, Ranged Mitigation 2 wouldn't hurt ... it's that or one of the elite Marksman or Brawler professions to 000x for a higher cap.

i'm pretty sure the 3 in the 4-4-4-3 requires combat xp so no you would not cap at 300k you'd cap less...

As an MBH, he has ranged mitigation from the Investigation line with the extra one coming from Master. Beyond mit 3 is a waste of SP.

This is not always ture "XP CAPS ARE ALWAYS TWICE THE VAILUE OF YOUR TOP TRAINED BOX".
My understanding is XP caps are always twice the value of the untrained box above your top trained box. If you dont have any box above your top trained box (e.g. swordsman xxx4), then the original statement is ture.

Technically both is true. if you are 4-x-x-x, then the XP cap is twice of what the last box trained in, requires (i.e. skill box 4 is 100,000 XP, then your cap will be 200,000 XP).
If you are 2-x-x-x, then the xp cap is twice the requirement for next box your gaining XP in (i.e. box three requires 5,000 xp, your cap will be 10,000).
Don't believe me, I don't care. It is a fact.
Want proof?
Pick up a novice profession and train 1 skill box, look at the requirement for skill box two, gain XP untill you cap, and then compare the cap to the required xp for skill box 2.
Want to know how to prove the skill box 4 cap?
Do the exact same thing as above, but keep going until you achieve the skill box 4.

Verypossible, it's been quite awhile since I had any skillboxes in a profession I hadn't mastered. Either way, the answer is to achieve a higher skillbox that requires combat xp.

No, he was right, xp caps are always at twice the value of the last trained box. Is it your understanding or have you tried it? Because once you see something for yourself and not because some one said or you read it somewhere, only THEN will you know.

Knowing my current template mentioned above would profession would you guys recomend I pick up to raise my combat xp limit? Its getting annoying having to run to the village every few minutes and only get around 60k FS xp after the conversion. I can spare about 10 skill points for now. Anything over and I have to drop Master BH.

If you have the skill points, train up Commando 4-x-x-x, that will make your Combat cap 300K.
