k guys i have a question. im a new fs person. i completed a quest from captain sarguillo to kill 50 outlaws and 25 pirates. it said it unlocked combat prowess. when i look in my skill tree theres no combat prowess novice or xp in there. whats up with that? and when i talk to the other villagers they say that they see that im busy with someone else at the moment, when i dont have any missions from them...the only thing i can think of is that i need to wait till the next phase for a new mission...but do they always say that when that's the case?

You can only unlock one branch per phase. If it is the first branch in the tree then you need to get enough fs combat xp to fill the novice box before you start filling the first box in the branch (This works just like any other elite profession). Since you have not filled the novice box, you don't see it in your skill tree. If you choose the "show all skills" option in the skill window, you can look at the FS skill trees and see where you stand. You now need to convert regular xp to FS xp. You do this by talking toPaemos. Remember ther are four kinds of FS xp you can convert toand right now you need FS Combat xp, so pick the right one.

4 kinds of FS xp, but for FS combat xp, you'll need to convert weapons xp and real combat xp. FS reflexes xp also uses weapons and combat xp, so be careful when your conversing with Pablo at the village. And the conversion rates may seem kind of slow, but now your grind begins.
