Ok i've not long become FS and i have a few questions (please forgive me for not doing an extensive search on the forums, as im work and shouldnt be even doing this!)
1) Once i become a jedi can i drop my FS Skills?
2) I've read that using grenades is the best way to grind xp to convert to FS xp, would being a 4/-/-/- commando make it go faster or should i just use the standard C-12's? (do higher level grenades give more xp basicly?)
3) Does the Melee Speed FS Skill speed up my lightsaber skills or is a lightsaber not counted as a melee weapon
thanks

ps if my boss is reading this then please understand that SWG is an addiction and if you sack me i will claim unfair dismissal!

Some people say yes, some say no. Probably no one, except the devs, knows for sure.
When you mouse over the lightsaber in your pack, the description says it's a melee weapon.
Personally, I had unlocked fs melee speed but never filled the branch. When I reached padawan, my lightsaber was really slow. I decided to go back and fill the branch and drop ranged speed. I have one box in fsmelee speed filled and I think I see a difference. It could be that the speed factor increase is so slight, it's only noticable when you have no other melee speed modifiers. This might be why a lot of players say it doesn't help.

1) Once i become a jedi can i drop my FS Skills? Nope and u shouldnt...the mods are way better than any u could acquire with any other skill for the point cost.
2) I've read that using grenades is the best way to grind xp to convert to FS xp, would being a 4/-/-/- commando make it go faster or should i just use the standard C-12's? (do higher level grenades give more xp basicly?) Definately get Commando 4xxx, as long as u use pup'ed ID's or thermals you'll be fine.
3) Does the Melee Speed FS Skill speed up my lightsaber skills or is a lightsaber not counted as a melee weapon Lightsaber is counted as a melee weapon and yes the Melee Speed skill tree will seriously improve your speed for all melee weapons.
thanks

To clarify question 2, you don't get MORE XP for using Thermals over C12s, you just get it FASTER. The XP depends on your skill with the weapon you're holding at the time of the kill ... and since the mitigation, defenses and toughness are nice and Unarmed 4 is already required for Commando, TKM is the way to go if starting from scratch.

To clarify on your clarification, you will obtain a larger amount of xp for the amount of time that u spend grinding. And this is not true...u will recieve seperate weapon xp for each different weapon used in the kill.

And clarifying again, total XP gained DOES depend on skill in the weapon held at the time of the kill. It might be interesting sometime to beat up aHuurton Stalkersometime with a low-level skill, then finally kill with a master elite, would it avoid the lower XP capping and give MORE of the low-level weapon XP?

Im wondering if we are refering to the same thing here, im saying that when two different weapons are used to kill a single creature...u will recieve weapon xp for each of those weapons depending on how much damage with each weapons is done. Are we on the same page?
