for those of you who have completed the village i was wondering 2 things. 1 can i do all the trial(save the craft lightsaber) with a rifle as a Master Rifleman? 2. once i do #16 trial, can i keep rifleman skills until i ABSOLUTELY have to give them up to learn jedi's skills?or do i have to give up all my skills for jedi skills right at jedi padawan novice?

nope you only have to drop skills as you have to in order to free up SP's. as long as you have the cert you can use a rifle right up to the day you decide to drop marksman completely.

Answers:

1) Yes, you can do all the trials for Padawan with a Rifle, except crafting a lightsaber, as obviously it'd be hard to craft a saber using a rifle

2) One you're done with the trials and enter the world of the Padawan learner, you can keep any skills you want. So in effect, you could be a Force Sensitive Rifleman, that has some force powers to boot. You'll only need to drop current skills to free up skill points as you wish to progress.

1. Yes, you can use Master Rifleman for all of your trials. Weapon doesn't matter, you just have to kill various creatures on a few different trials. You don't have to use your lightsaber to kill stuff during the trials. The rest just involve talking to various NPC's, so your weapon doesn't matter.

2. Yes. You can keep Master Rifleman, or any other skills, until you absolutely must drop them to get your skill points back. Jedi skills cost a lot skill point-wise (8 for novice boxes, 8 for each tier 1 box). Also, kind of obvious, but you can only get Jedi xp by killing stuff with your lightsaber. Once you get powerful enough with your saber, your rifle's gonna not be such a big attraction to keep around. Any significant offense/defense will be with your saber. My advice is to grind up your 2nd character that's granted to you at Padawan into your old template. Then you can basically "play you" without worrying about dropping your skills on your new Jedi. You can use your alt and be just like you've always been. But you have a Jedi character

Also, you might consider (after regrinding your template on your unlock) getting some Brawler skills, mainly unarmed (i'm a big TKM fan). The MOBs you'll be fighting will probably be in your face for quite awhile while you hack at em with your newbie saber. Melee damage mitigation will help with that. Your ranged damage mitigation from rifleman won't be as helpful - you'll essentially be shifting from ranged offense to melee. Might a little weird, but you'll get used to it

yeah thx guys and to that last post, i am master rifleman, 0444 TK, 4000 commando, combat prowess 4401, and enhanced reflexes 0200. right now i am just doing missions on Dant to make soem money for nade grind. need it for nades, then to be sliced, then power-ups, then armor. losts of money and as of yesterday morning i only had 200k to my name. did grinding all after noon yesterday and grinded this morning and this evening total now 1.2 mil doing piket mission in improved job market. basicall i fill up 900k exp for TK in 3 hours and 900k rifles in 2 hours. gonna keep this up for about two weeks. by then i should have some more FS skills knocked out and enough money to spend on nade grinding. yes it's slower but this game never ends, so what do i have to lose. nothing. again thx for advice and may the force be with you all.
