You get CH XP by fighting with your pets against something within5 levels of the pet or higher. This includes grouped levels. So if you group with a level 1 pet and you are level 80, you have to fight 75 or higher to get decent XP. Also, the rules change when you are grouped with the pet in your group, ungrouped, or grouped with your pet ungrouped. If you are in a group with your pet and you help fight the creature's target, you will usually get total XP split to half weapons XP and half CH XP unless you seriously out-damage your pet, then the ratio adjusts a little bit. If you are grouped and your pet is not you will receive close to full weapons XP and your pet will receive a small amount of CH XP, unless your pet equals or out-damages you, then it gets more XP (but you still get close to full weapons XP). When I talk about the Creature Handler XP here, I am referring to actual CH XP, not Creature Training XP, which has a whole different set of rules and can't be traded for force XP. Are you confused yet?

Scout XP is better because it doubles with weapons xp (and/or CH XP).
