Howdy all

just wanted to impart some information for those of you contemplating dropping jedi/FS boxes

My situation is that Im a pub 9 unlocker - pre cu i was on my way through the knight trials - that has since been scrapped and as a result I retemplated to a bounty hunter with a heap of jedi skills. (BTW this sucked i dont recommend it)

Never the less I found out that once you have the padawan skill box you can never drop it its your forever. The consequence of this is that YOU CAN NOT LEARN OR DROP ANY MORE FS BOXES, the skills you picked your stuck with.

So just a word of warning to anyone trying to power grind there way through with the thought of rearranging FS boxes after your a padawan - igot some bad news -you cant, to my knowledge do it. If you have found a way to do this please share, but take it from some one thats completely dropped jedi to the point of only having the padawan box on the fs tree, you cannot get rid of it or rearange them

And as a added note - Jedi is a **edit**load easier to grind now than pre CU

Example

Time it took me to get novice saber pre CU - approx 6-8 hours

Time it took me to get novice saber post CU approx 30-40 seconds in a spin group

Time it took me to get to double bladed one pre CU - approx 3 days - Im not a power gamer

Time it took me to get to double bladed one post CU - approx 20 minutes (spin group)

Action on having a bounty hunter after mepre CU - Run!

Action on having a bounty hunter after me post CU - let him db me (Who cares ill regrind lost xp in no more than 30 minutes anyhow

Cheers

yeah this is in the stickies actually. Up there for people who ask "Can I drop my skills after I get my second character?!? I only wanna do this for another free toon!!!"the reply being "This is the Jedi system, not the Unlocking-A-Second-Character system." Once you get paddy, you're stuck with it. Its been said you can drop FS skills before you learn padawan, as long as you fill up your 6 trees and then your seventh tree first, then you can drop one of your original 6... something like that.

Ok to clarify heres my situation

trained 6 branches

did paddy trials

started knight trials

went to village hoping to get an extra fs box, had the sp and the xp. Converted xp to FS xp then went and saw the fellow you train boxes from, he shows what you can learn but when you click on your selection nothing happens.....

also dropped all jedi boxes, cannot drop the paddy box, still cannot learn or drop fs boxes

hope that clarifys things

You cant drop paddy while you still have your alt, try deleting that first. Basically to qualify for having an alt you must be Jedi, so if you don't want to be Jedi no more then you gotta delete your alt.

And...

You sure you had the xp for the FS skills, sounds to me like you didnt. Jedi xp doesn't convert to FS xp.

Not true. You cannot drop below 24 boxes, but you CAN learn different trees, and then drop the unwanted one(s). Just a matter of more grinding. This gets complicated once you are full temp jedi, so I'd advise doing this before you go there.

Even a Full template Jedi should be able to grind Combat Exp and a Weapon exp in a Full Grind Group.

a Non-Profession Weapon is needed I believe. Get in a Full CL80 Hunting Group or Spin Group and just shoot each monster once to get Full Experience and Combat Exp. Avoid using Jedi powers or saber attacks during this process. And you should be Able to max exp for Exchange.

Ok you've confused me a little. I always thought you could train up a 7th branch and drop one of the others AFTER you've become a Padawan provided you have the FS xp needed. In otherwords, let's say I have my 6 FS branches and am a Padawan. Later down the road if I have the FS xp to get a 7th FS branch, can't I train it up and drop one of the others? Can someone confirm this?

mkay well i searched on it. i found this thread here. searching brought up a bunch of different opinions, and i'm not sure many people have actually tried it, seeing as how it's no picnic to get 6 branches in the first place. According to that post, a CSR confirmed that it can be done after padawan. Probably you can do it /shrug. Try and see?

I know two people, one half-templated jedi and the other a 1/3rd template jedi who ground and added FS Luck and then dropped another line. One did it through scout and CH XP and the other was all scout (took them a long time lol). Both did this since the CU.

Ok, so now I'm confused too. I'm thinking of doing what Kyoujin23 said but after reading this post, I'm wondering if it's possible.

Has anyone actually done this AFTER they became a paddy andrecieved their alt? Or is it just a rumor that it's possible.
