Thread: Melee Speed Question

Before I get flamed, YES I know this is a Phase 2 skill, and it's Phase 3 now. However, with the bugs that still remain in the JTL, I'm worried that Phase 2 might take forever to come back around.
I just unlocked the Combat Prowess line the other day with the leftover xp from grinds past (finally my 900k of old Heavy Weapons xp gets put to good use!).
I don't really want any other lines other than the Melee Speed, and a friend of mine has 0002. Seeing as I have Novice Combat Prowess, would HE be able to teach me just 0001 or can FS skills only be taught by FS trainers?

First of all you don't have to Unlock Novice. Novice can be trained at anytime. You unlock 1 of the 4 branches after novice by completeing a Quest. If melee speed is the one you want you will have to wait until Phase 2 Comes back around as that is when the quest is given to Unlock that branch.
Since you have not Done the phase 2 Quest to Unlock it you will not be able to train it.
If you have done the Phase 2 quest and unlocked that branch you can train the boxes at any time as long as you accumulated enough FS XP.

That's what I needed to know. I guess I'll be looking for more 2h +1 AAs in the meantime or try to find a +5 or higher 2h CA for my remaining Ubese bando to complement the +10 I've got in a belt and shirt. 
Someone might be wise to update the sticky saying that FS skills can't be trained by friends in the off-phase. I can't imagine I'm the only one who's thought about this.

You can only unlock branches in the appropriate phase. You can train any branch you have unlocked at any time (from Noldan in the village). I don't know if players can train players. However I do know that the exp bar is bugged and will show you qualifying for things that you haven't unlocked yet. You cannot train them.

I wondered about that. That friggin' tease.
I guess I should count myself lucky. I only have to get one step of Melee Speed and I'm assured of capping with a 5.9 with all specials, and up to an 8.0 with every special save 2hHit3.
Until then, it's a matter of finding a perpetual stream of +1 AAs or a +5 to replace the +2 in my final remaining ubese bando (in which case I won't NEED CP0001).

Well, i started the 3 parter yesterday and came back today to do the second part. However it doesnt let me do it saying the shadow have evaded or something. How long do i have to wait then to finish it?

So say i did the quest at like 1:45, id have to wait till that time today to redo it correct?

yep, tho its typically 24 hrs after the last camp you did in the quest...

I believe it's exactly 24 hours from the last quest you did the day before.

I just got Glowy. I don't wanna be a jedi, but I have 4 skill points left over in my template and I figured I'd put em to some use.
Anyways, I'm Mpike/TKM/4000 Doc. My Polearm speed is currently +45. I was just wondering if the extra +12 Melee Speed I'd get from all 4 Mspeed boxes would make a noticeable difference in my DPS, or if I should just go with something like defense or even just vehicle control instead?

If you are not planning to be a jedi do some of the missions that give nice rewards (like Whip's current quest )... there are some good bits and pieces to pick up, make use of or sell
