First off before any non-crafters decide to chime in with "just grind combat xp" the point behiond this thread is alot of crafters want the craftin lines not the combat lines that we'll never use.

There are several problems with the craftin aspect of the FS grind for crafters. I don't need to get into the details becuase all the crafters know how bogus this is. But just a brief example of how rediculous this is... I'm a master achitect. I went to the village yesterday, with 3.2 million units of ore and 1.6 million units of gemstone. Now usually I would never dream of just loosing all this resources, but since I've harvested about 8 million units for my own use. So I sat down and ground gungan head statues till I capped then turned in, after grinding away this 4.8 million units of resources (which I could have sold for around 9 million credits) I got a whopping 250k FS xp and that took me most of the day to do.

Now I don't have any delusions that the conversion rate (of 35:1 for architects) will change, but can we at least some things put back into the game? Now I started playing in Jan, but from talking with guildies there were 2 mechanics in game that could be put back in that would make a world of difference for crafters.

1) remove xp caps at master level for crafters. Now the reason this was put in before was to keep a master from abnking enough xp to remasater the class if it was ever dropped. However if the cpas for all other levels in a class are left then this can still be avoided. For example if you drop armorsmith and then go the train in it again you'll cap back out the moment you train that first skill. However by removing the xp cap at master it gives crafters a better oppertnity to get better xp. As it stands a master architect caps at 240k xp. turn this in and we get a whopping 6200 fs xp. A awist of time to even travel to the village.

2) reinstate the xp gained by pulling items out of crates. Most crafter, expecially at master level have to make factory runs, and very few items are actually made by hand. This xp gain could be implimented again at master level to prevent playing from grinding a class simply by taking stuff out of crates. This was a mechanic that was ingame very early on and was taken out. This would allow crafters to get the xp from items they have to make in factories.

Between these 2 things those of us trying to get the crafting lines will actually have a chance to get some things done.
