I felt that this needed to be posted here as there are still a lot of us looking for solo groups with few people willing to run them.
I always seem to be one of the few people that steps up to either form or run the groups out of MO on Dantooine on my server.
It is not difficult or time consuming to do if you know how to set yourself up right
Step 1
Perhaps the most important - Macros are your friend, using 2 simple macros anyone can easilly expidite the process of running a solo group.
Macro1 - solospam
/yell FORMING SOLO GROUP HERE
/yell SEE (Name here) FOR AN INVITE
after the group is rolling change it to
/yell ESTABLISHED SOLO GROUP HERE
/yell JUST A FEW SPOTS LEFT
/yell SEE (name here) FOR AN INVITE
Step 2 - Invite
/Invite
The first macro is for spamming, don't overdo it or you could get warned by a csr - keep it in good taste.
The second macro allows you to target somebody and press a button to invite them.
Some other tips - don't just randomly invite everyone in the area. This just serves to upset people that don't want a group.
Get a dancer and a musician in your group to offer buffs in a player city near some mission terminals, this way it makes your group more attractive if they have buffers in a static spot near the mission terminals. And remember to compensate them as well. This in itself I have found is a big selling point in getting a group rolling.
And most importantly....step up if your group leader needs to bow out, too many times when I or others ask for a volunteer to take over all we get is silence or....."oh I am about to log" or whatever.
It's not that big a deal to do this, and everyone should take a turn once in a while

I have been using solo groups to grind since the Village opened and I waste more time finding groups so I usually start my own, but we differ on how hard its is to keep one going especially since the nerf payout publish. I have had so many problems keeping a group together. Yesterday I ran a group for 5+ hours on Ahazi. I had people coming and going the whole time but it ate into my grind quite a bit. Some would complain when the group would get smaller and I would recruit more people. I am grenade grinding so I was going back and forth to the village often and being on Dant is the only way to keep a group of any size going so lots of travel (thank God for JTL).The best thing about solo groups is finding one where people talk it helps witht the boredom.

I think that one reason why there are less people willing to take leader of solo groups is that a larger percentage are running missions in places other than MO. If you aren't running your missions there then it is difficult to return to fill the group back up and without the payout of credits there are many other places to run missions.
If anyone has any ideas about how to keep a group going without returning to the Mining Outpost every half hour please tell us.

Solo group bot maybe? Anyone know a good macro to auto invite people in group? I am thinking of doing this when I macro grind in village.
Problem is to target the player. I think targetAtCursor might work fine but it require the player to be right in front of you. Might be hard to position yourself

If there is a targetAtCursor command you could put the cursor on a specified spot. Let's say for example on certain spot on a building wallthat is out of the way of traffic. Then you could just tell the groupee to stand in front of that spot of the building until they are grouped.
If you had the luxury to do it in building you could just put the cursor over some furniture (chair?)and have the person sit in it to be grouped.

So far the best solo group leaders were people's alts and docs. A doc sitting in coro buffing can just as well add a 'Also running a solo group ask me for an invite' line after buff stats. /cheer In'di =] As for alts if you have an alt just set him/her to yell on a macro to ask the toon youre grinding with for an invite so you can just switch back invite and get back to the grind.

I have an alt and I would be very interested in doing this. If someone has a macro for this please pst/email me.
