OK, how long does it take for the old man to come to you the second time, ive been waiting 3 and a half hours. Tried all the tricks ive read on the forums

I'm pretty sure it's over 8 hours. That's the earliest I have heard of somebody receiving the visit.

There are no "tricks" that I have heard of to make the old man appear. It is timed, just like the phases in the village are timed. You need to simply wait for the timer to tick down. I am not sure how long the timer is (I hear it is different for everyone), but I am positive it is more than three and a half hours Good luck!
