I couldn't seem to find any information on this here. I've got Combat Medic only for my fighting abilities. Since my combat experience cap is only about 75K due to that, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for gaining Medic experience?

you need to group with high level grinders and heal them as they take hits. All you need to do isheal everybody once every kill. If you are master cm you can bank 1.2 mill xp before going to the villaage. A rez here and there for the lower level player helps also

TWO WORDS>>> BACTA SPRAY!!!!

Group with a hunting group with some melee guys... just hit the follow button and run a macro for bacta spray... Do not attack as that will split the xp you gain between combat and Med xp

Exactly, if a mob gives 6k of weapons XP to a fighter, and you healed that fighter during combat, you will get 6k of medical XP. Key thing is that you have to heal the person while in combat, and if you heal at a time the person had 0 damage and you see "[yourname] heals [their name] for 0 points of damage", then you won't get any XP.

Careful with the bacta spray though as it tends to get mobs aggro on you very fast. I used bacta toss a lot.

Clarification: You would only get 6k of medical XP if you were the same combat level as the fighter. You would probably get more if you were a higher level. As a Master Doctor/Master Rifleman (CL 80), I was getting 13k+ medical xp per kill (counting an inspiration buff and double XP), but if you were only CL 40, I would expect you'd get half of that. This is also relative to the highest level of the group you are in, but let's not complicate the situation any more than it needs to be

That's a good clarification. I've never been below CL80 since the CU (Doc and swords) and i wasn't aware that the XP you get is proportional to your combat level.

Thanks for the info, everyone. So, heal ONLY for maximum Medic experience. Also, try and group with those of the same level or lower than myself to maximize things. Got ya.

Well, IMHO you'd want to group with CL 80's if they'll have you. You will still get xp as if you were the lvl you are, but with a group bonus for each member, and you shouldn't have to worry about the combat as the CL 80's will have that down pat.

It seems like a good situation for a healer to me. I did this for 2 days before I mastered Doctor - but that was with the double xp, so it would probably take about 4 days of boling on Dantooine with a CL 80 group this way if you stick only to healing.

I would also like to add that I've never been a Combat Medic, so I don't know if the DoT attacks count as Medic XP or Combat XP... if it's Medic XP, then you can still contribute offensively - just don't fire weapons and stick to your CM skills.
