ok... best bet is to find a private or player structure and remain near that - in my case i used the mall in my city - and when the sith appear get inside. this stops the sith from being able to immediately attack you.

then, call for help... either from a combat orientated friend or guildmate, and when they arrive have them group with you inside the building. therefore, if youre in your home youll need to add your help to the allow list for the structure. this will group you at the highest cl of those who help you -ideally cl 80 - which will hence reduce the amount of damage you take from the sith.

once theyve grouped with you, have them go outside first and draw the aggro from the sith, and then follow when the sith attack them. make sure you get at least at least one hit on each of the sith, and stay close to safety as if youre incapped you lose the crystal. if you take too much damage duck back into the building and break the aggro.

this should help you defeat the sith and keep your crystal, and enable you to move on to the sith camp and then the village. good luck...

AFCMarauder, that was the info I was looking for. Thank you very much for the help!!!

Since i am unfamiliar with the new system as a whole, I was not sure what possibility I had and knew somebody had to jump on me for asking about a crafter trying to do it ::smirk::, but I want the bonuses for my crafting (if I wanted to play Jedi, I log on my other account....'nuff said).

Once I have it... Pistoleer can go out the window for all I care and I can pick up on other crafts I have been neglecting. I want to offer the best product I can and crafting is very relaxing especially for an old holo-grind type

Thank you again, and also to the initial responses that offered help.

Make life easier for yourself and go 2 master combat elites and if you chose your elites wisely you will still have about 20-35 left over skill points to craft.

Then when you get jedi, you get your alt and you can have a 100% crafter.

I was always led to believe the non-holo grind system would be fair to all members of the game. It was said crafters, entertainers, etc. would have a chance to become a Jedi and unlock char. slot.

My question is this... how is a non-CL 80 suppose to get past the first step after the old man of defeating the Sith Outlaws? As soon as I get hit I am incapped and if I even try to attack ...well I have even died before because of this. I would like a shot at unlocking too, but it seems the only way is to drop every non-combat skill I have and give up on my primary profession.

Is there any way around this problem without being pure combat based or having to drop my primary job?

Thank you.

I am a Master Shipwright and Novice Pistoleer. Working on Pistoleer still and not crafting for most part because I am tired of being beat up by sith outlaws. Just not sure what to do and trying to get pistol exp. is biting me in the butt cause it seems everybody wants CL80s in their groups and I really don't know where to go and find a group my level.

I also looked at the thread for helping crafters by server, but did not see any one from Kettemoor. So if somebody could just tell me how it's done or point me in right direction I can go from there..... I hope

Ya with just novice pistoleer you are pretty well sunk, I suggest getting in a group and hope they come while you are out hunting with them. With a CL as low as yours is it will be tough to get into a group. Maybe contact some of the people who regularly buy from you and see if they or someone in thier guild can help you out.

I had to give up my other professions to go total combat because I wanted to go Jedi. Either you want to or not. Trying to remain a crafter then whine about not being able to get past the sith is pointless.

I think I can find a group (or a jedi) for this part if I knew a way it would work. Once they incap you don't you loose the crystal automatically? I am a 1 shot incap easily... They have never seemed to be where I can see them first. They just spawn out of the blue.

If I could sit in my house crafting till I see red dots appear on my radar and than call for help without having to go outside and instantly fall to the ground...I would be golden! But so far I don't know what I should do in order to get past this step or if something like sitting in my house crafting will work since so far I have been ambushed in the mosthorrible moments (like checking my hopper on a harvestor where my attention is on retrieveing my resources).

This is why any ideas would be appreciated so I can stop seeing the old man at my door. (I am actuallytired of seeing him lol).

In response to above post.... not everybody wants to be a Jedi, but I don't know too many crafters who would not like a crafting bonus.

If Sony states all professions have a chance.. than why should I go back to the holo-grind days? Been there/done that... and not trying to be a flavor of the month, just asking for some advice on if there is a way to do this. There is either a way or their isn't.... I personally don't want to spend 6 mil+ to remaster my craft. Others may have that kinda money just sitting around... I don't.

Ok for the second time, he doesn't want to be a jedi, he just wants the FS crafting skills.
