Thread: FS Weapon Speed Calculations?

Has anyone does the maths on the force senstive weapon speed and the actual modifier that it gives? I read that the +3 Enhanced Weapon speed that the Force Sensitive branches give you isnt a simple +3 to your weapon speed, but is instead a percentage modifier, thats disproportionate to the characters current weapon speed. If this is the case, has anyone sat down and done the formula on the skills, and as a result, can they tell me if I should use up my SP and XP on getting speed boxes, or for that matter any FS combat lines?

According to what is said in the Rifleman forums you can be capped at +97 Rifle Speed with well crafted rifles.. Master Marksman puts you at +95 so you only need maybe a coupld +1 tapes. Not sure on how the FS Speed actually works as it would be nice to know.

right now the force speed cols are borked and melee speed is what you need to speed up your rifle. You are still better off with master marksman, master rifle and a +5 skill tape, that should cap a well made T-21, if the ranged speed col from the village gets fixed then it might be different. If the ranged speed col is working as intended, then it will not cap you.

I already got melee speed because I read that ranged speed is broken. And I dont have enough skill points to get master marksman, but I could free up enough points to get the melee speed branch. But from what I read is that its not worth it at all, and Im better off forking out the many millions of credits for speed tapes.

I don't think its worth it, in all honesty.

melee and ranged defence are 2 very nice trees, unless you're a master fender...as for the crafting, I heard they don't help much at all and as for the healing column, that's a joke. It should have been wound treatment so docs and entertainers could have a buff boost...

Icarus...

I am master rifleman. Why do you think the numbers in the FS speed trees are not added directly to the rifle speed? I have not heard that. I read the rifleman forum fairly frequently (several times a week, usually). I admit I MAY have missed something, but I have not read anywhere that the bonuses in the FSweapon speed trees are anything other than a simple addition.

Now you probably already know this, but just in case you didn't know it:The FS RANGED SPEED tree is borked and does NOTHING for ranged speed, butthe FS MELEE SPEED tree actually increases BOTH RANGED and MELEE speed currently.

FS modifiers are added directly to main stat. Although Ranged has been broken the whole time and still is as far as I know. Of course FS Melee Speed works for ranged weapons as well.

And yes +12 will make a big difference to those profession with lower noraml Speed modifiers such as swordsman and pikeman that only get+75 or +80 with master Brawler. With the FS it would specifically add up to +87 or +92 which does make a huge difference for those profession.

if you are a profession that is or is close to cap already by just mastering the profession you will not notice much of a difference. Such as TK which is already speed capped even before mastering, there is no way you will get any faster.

So if one isnt a crafter, nor does one wish to become jedi, are there any force sensitive trees worth getting? I can see only the Survival tree thats remotely interesting, but even that hardly seems worth it.
