Last night I was hanging around in the mining outpost and getting ready to log off for the night. I see someone running around saying they needed help with killing Mel. I think to myself, okay how long could this actually take? Who needs sleep anyway? So I shoot them a tell to let them know I'll help out, they invite me to the group and there are 7 other people in the group.

I asked if anyone had done this before and no one had. I then asked if they knew how to do it and there were a few 'well sorta'. I then asked if there were any master riflemen in the group, there were two, maybe three.

So I explain how there are 4 crystals and three of them will heal but one will not and it would be best for the riflemen to throw conceal shots at the crystals until they figure out which one will not heal and take it out.

I then asked where the Mel camp was, it was on Dant. I hoped that he didn't spawn inside a house or something crazy.

We all got buffed, suited up and headed to the waypoint. I had never done this before so I wasn't totally sure what to expect. We get to about 80m of the camp and we are able to see the camp had spawned next to a house. I thought cool; it’s right beside the house. We get off the bikes and I see what looks like animal lairs? I start tabbing to target the various things and figure out what was what and figured out the animal lair looking things were actually the crystals.

I start looking at the house and the camp and I can only see three of the crystals, great I think to myself, it looks as if the 4th crystal is IN the house. Two of the rifle man go prone and start taking out one of the crystals, and I start circling the house (Making sure not to get any closer than 64m of the camp) and I'm able to see the other crystal, right as I saw it the first crystal the riflemen selected poofed. Sweet I thought that was cool, so they start shooting at another crystal, almost gone boom heal, wrong crystal. By this time the sith had spawned so one of the riflemen turned their attention from the crystal to the sith. Not sure if there was too much confusion but the other rifleman kept shooting at the crystal that was getting healed. After the first sith were taken care of they finally switched to another crystal. So out of the corner of my eye I see a figure moving with a red glow, I focus my attention off the crystals and see the man him self running to one of the others in the group with his light saber drawn. The group mate Mel was running to engaged in battle with him. I immediately took off running to Mel and the fellow group member to offer any assistance I could. I'm a Master Swordsman with a handful of other skills. As I'm running to Mel I strip outa my armor and put my clothing on, down another shot of brandy and some other food I had. By the time I reached Mel I was totally in my 'street clothes' and I start wailing on Mel with my power hammer, then a TKM runs in and started beating on Mel as well.

I think to myself 'ok, we can probably hold him off for a little bit, but what about the other sith and his buddy? Where are they?' Mel says 'You may have destroyed my crystals, here comes more (I couldn't make out all he said from the confusion of the crystals blowing Mel shooting lighting, and his saber going nuts'. I think, okay TKM is sticking with Mel, I'll stick with Mel and hopefully the others will be okay. We are slowly whacking away at Mel, finally the person that had the mission comes over and starts whacking at Mel as well. Mel's blue bar is about 1/2 down. Mel then turns and focuses his attention on me and starts wailing on me with his saber, great I think here I go. Oddly enough he's not doing as much damage as I thought he would do to me (Maybe because I took my armor off?) and there was a doc close by that was throwing heals on me when necessary. About a minute later Mel goes down and I notice the corpse of his buddy laying about 4m from me.

I immediately do a /cheer yay and stuff and everyone was like 'That’s it??'

We all laughed and cheered some more and the mission owner asked what to do next. I explained what he would need to do next and off he went.

I have to say this is the most fun I had in a while and I look forward to helping others do their exit quest.

Even though this was the first time I helped someone I think the key to the success was we had a plan going in and we pretty much stuck to it until it was over. Out of the 8 of us that were fighting I think only one person was killed, I’m not sure how they died.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to help someone out with their Mel quest I would definitely suggest doing so. Doing so will give you an idea of what to expect when it’s your turn and possibly make some friends that can help you with yours and it’s a LOAD of fun

Wow.. I hope my encounter w/ Mel this month goes smoothly. Decent story.

yes melle is over rated lol i have done it about 5 times now with a large group and a small group. Its all about organization. I did it with 1 jedi 3 tkms a master swordsman and me medic/commando lol. We died the first go around and then we got it the second time. The first time i did it with 1 tkm 1 swordsman 1 rifleman and me. Took about 5mins rifleman are great.

That was a great post.

As a master swordsman I was able to destroy all the crystals using lunge1 without getting aggro'd.

I ended up having a couple guys help but I could've technically done it by myself.

I just would need to keep Mel intimidated and pound his mind (after killing his buddy and the other sith).
