Thread: Need more skill points what to drop?

Well, true - I won't be dropping these skills until I'm ready to train them. But, what's the FS xp cap? I thought it was only for 4 boxes (1 branch). It's like 1295000 FS xp or something like that.
Will I really be able to accumulate 1.5 branches (6 boxes) worth of FS xp?
Thanks for your help.
I think the key for me in leaving 6 boxes trained is to have (as an example) 2 boxes of Reflexes to train, and 4 boxes of Combat Prowess. That way, neither specific FS xp is capped, until I cap the Combat Prowess, then I go to train and drop the TK skills. The last thing I want to end up with is 6 Combat Prowess boxes to train, asI can't bank that much FS xp of that specific type at one time. Is that kinda what you were saying?

I went into jedi with master doc + fencer 4000, i chose to drop fencer, but after dropping doc to 2440, this way I could still buff and cure poison. I have now dropped all fencer to keep doc.
If I had TKM I would have held onto the meditation line as long as possible, wound healing is priceless but I have now learned healer 0200 which is good for all wounds and battle fatigue. So that part really becomes a jedi template issue.
But for starters, get rid of master doc and hold onto 0240 as long as you can, those buffs (about 1900 with clothes and bivoli, 110 med use driod) will suit your jedi grind. But you have to ask yourself what happens if a bh comes. Well, I play safe and am not on the terminals. I don't plan on being on them and my alt is a BH so I keep an eye on them. But if a BH did come at me, I may as well just /kneel and take it like a man cause there ain't nothing I can do to defend myself at my low level.
Another issue comes up that once I have to lose my ability to self buff, I won't even need novice medic, so I"ll havea ton of skill pts leftover. So if you can get buffed no problem and are not worried about waiting in buff lines, then keep TKM and drop doc, but again holding onto 0240 as long as you can so you can self buff. After you lose the ability to buff you may as well drop down to medic 0040 and find good stim d's with med use of 40.
Excellent stuff, thanks for the insight!
Before I *really* train up my Jedi, my plan is to grind out Master Doctor on the second account I get at Padawan. That way, I can still buff myself, and I can drop Master Doc all the way down to Medic 0/0/4/0 (at your recommendation) to use stims on myself. I might even become a Healer as a Jedi, and rely more on my Force skills than my lightsaber skills, but that remains uncertain.
I'm not giving up that meditate line until I *have* to, if ever. It's my favorite TK skill.
Thanks again!

Yes thats exactly what i mean, to keep the FS exp onCombat Prowess andReflex stored while you finish off the FSQuests, at least i would give up TK after Doc, i find Melee Mitigation 3 more usefull than Master Doc, you can still buff at Doc x/2/x/x and on Tempest (thats where i play) are so much Buffbots around.
Btw. i dont know if there is any Cap on FS exp?!
I'm inclined to think there is a cap. I think it equates to 4 boxes of FS skills. I remember that when the new Jedi system first went in the game, people got free unlocks and the xp to fill up those boxes. Some unfortunate folks didn't train up the boxes, they just unlocked more, got free xp, but lost that xp because they were capped.
Maybe the Devs removed the cap due to this, maybe not - not positive, but I'm inclined to think the cap is at 4 boxes of FS skills.
you do know that the only xp you get as jedi is from swinging the LS right? pre patch 9 you got xp for healing, but now you must wield the LS to get xp. but either way healer 4004 is a part of most templates, without the ability to heal yourself in combat you are a sitting duck. If you havea large group of jedi that you plan to play with, you can get away without it as long as someone else in the group heals you, but to go without it is suicide.

The above is a correct and I have suggested the same for others asking the same question. I differ only with the suggestion that you don't need combat skills at padawan. At padawan with a training saber you are basically helpless against the weakest of mobs and I highly recommend keeping some combat skills to fall back upon until you reach acertain degree of proficiency with the light saber.
Also no hard cap has been discovered for Fs exp. I have hadseveral millionFs exp. points banked(enough to fill several full branches) and never did I cap out. Many of myfriends report the same findings.

I agree with that, at least until I hit novice lightsaber I needed to pull out the gaffi stick several times, but I also have to say I did not discover pikatta pie or citrus snow cake, had I been using those 2 foods for that 3 hour grind to novice LS I probably would not have needed to resort to using fencer.
As far as keeping skills to go against BH, best defence is to not land on the terminals, play smart and you'll be ok. I landed on the terms once, it was not really totally my fault, macro running a saber hit while i went to the bathroom wasn't intended to be running in front of a fresh group of imperial soldiers that got dropped on my head. Of course those soldiers did help kill the lair for me, but in that span of 3-4 mins I got myself on the terminals and did not play for a few weeks...
