Thread: A guide to Crystals for we non-savvy

I keep collecting crystals as loot, but as I have no interest in becoming Jedi I have no real knowledge of them or their worth. Can one of you Jedi-in-the-know write up a guide on these things so people know the difference between crystal types, what constitutes a "premium" crystal, etc.......?

The only way tell tell the quality of a crystal is to have a Jedi examine it. The guide above is a good indicator of the crystal quality but not a guarantee.

some corrections to the list
tuskens from commoner to warlord give fair clears......tusken king gives quality
ns outcast and rangers usually give goods, but i do think they give fairs occasionally
ns stalkers always give goods
ns spell weavers always give qualities
and as far as i know elders never give flawless..always premium

Ok, what about the condition? Can a crystal with 800 condition be a premium or a 1200 condition be poor? That number is the only "indicator" non-Jedi have, but does it mean anything. Thanks for the help.

The condition is only an indicator of how long the crystal will last just like any weapons condition, so yes a premium can be 800 condition. I lose about 50-60 condition per buff in my Gen1 while grinding. I would suggest you guys find as many Premium\quality as you can before your padawan trials, tuning is random but they seem to be better. I use -8 in my grinding saber and it is a huge difference, with a -6fc saber I was having to take breaks after two lairs, with a -8fc I can grind for 4 hours without stopping.
edit: as a sidenote Spell Weavers have been droppingquality and are alot easier than Protectors.

Is the only way to get the special color crystals by doing the one mission in Phase 3 that also comes with the mind focusing crystal? Are there any other quests that will reward one? Perhaps Whip's mission (which also rewards a focus crystal) if you're grouped with someone?

The quality does not weigh in as strongly as you would think, I tuned a poor better then a premium. There is a massive random modifier.

From what I understand, the crystals change everytime the phases cycle. So each time phase 3 rolls around, a different crystal would be available from that quest. Just wondering if the rest of the village has been "group-tested" for saber crystals. I'm thinking probably not because more are just concerned with reaching Jedi than what their blade color is going to be. Possibly very easy quests that require no assistance (or even buffs for that matter) may be hiding crystals for those who are grouped.
