Thread: Padawan Trials are bugged. Here are some tips.

I started the Padawan trials this week and was really frustrated when my 4th trial got screwed up with a missing NPC bug. Unfortunently it was the "kill 20 flampusets" trial, which is one of the hardest to complete because it's difficult to find 20 of them. I ended up doing it three times before it worked. Here are a couple oftips for everyone who starts the trials:
Rori missions are bugged. When you get a mission that starts out on Rori, reset it immediatly and get a new one that doesn't start on Rori.
NPCs will disappear if you are aggroed in the vicinity of the NPC. The only way to continue is to reset it and get a new mission. If you're aggroed, don't go near your NPC contact.
FYI... Anytime you restart the mission, you start at the beginning of that mission. When resetting missions, be careful,don't click on the "Reset Trials" button. This wipes out everything and starts the trials over from the beginning.
Also, halfway through the trials you need to craft a lightsaber crafting kit and a lightsaber. Make sure you have some high CD copper for the crafting kit and do your crafting at a crafting station in a research center player city. You will also need a color crystal for the training saber (clear ones are power crystals and you'll use those when you hit padawan). If you don't have a crystal now, you might want to start thinking about buying one or going after one as loot from an NPC who drops them. It's a real drag when you finally get the ability to craft a lightsaber and you have to wait to acquire the componants.
You want to start working on your first jedi novice box (20k jedi xp) BEFORE you get to Padawan. Initiateswon't show upon the BH terminals so you can grind your first 20k safely.

Not all are bugged.But still good info.I somehow managed to finish some on rori.

Also good, I noticed this on one of my trials. Saw the npc ,was aggro'd and the npc disappeared right after.

Another thing to add is that you start losing jedi xp as soon as you hit initiate so be careful. Nothing like starting out the ls grind with 4500xp in the hole.

when you die as a jedi you lose xp.
Be careful I heard even though you can't show up on the boards till you are a Pad you are still accumulating visibility. Would suck to become a padawan and be all over the boards the same instant.

I ran several trials starting on Rori before patch 12 and they all worked. But good to know. I will try to avoid those.
I may have a problem though. I got through mission 7, and expected mission 8 to be my LS construction. Instead I get the falumpaset mission. Should I be worried?

Yeah, I heard that as well - people grinding away happily, then suddenly they finish the padawan trials and 10-20 minutes later start getting random tells from people asking if they can meet up - usually a sign of terminal status.

no. the lightsaber crafting trial is fairly random. it could be your last trial for all we know. it just TENDS to appear in the middle of your trials.
