Alright, so i got glowy, then i waited for the old man and he gave me a crystal
then i waited for the sith and they jumped me and took my crystal
then i got back up, and went back with a friend and started killing them
as i was attacking them, the old man shows up again
I kill the two sith, and then get my crystal from the old man, however i loot a "waypoint datapad" off of the sith which I cannot read
Whenever i try to use it, i get the message "You cannot understand this datapad"
so what exactly should I do?
any and all help would be greatly appreciated

as soon as you got incapped they took your crystal and that part is failed.
So when the old man arrived it would be setting you up to do it all again.
Destroy the data pad and hope another spawn comes for you.
Thats probably what most will tell you or you can make a ticket and wait forever to possibly be told the same thing again.
If another sith spawns doesnt come for you then you may have to destroy the crystal and wait for the old man again.
I would wait it out it shouldnt take more than a 1-3 days for another spawn to come if it is coming.

From what I understand, this is a current bug. I've heard this happen to many people.

This is not a bug. It is the way it was designed. You must survive the first sith attack WITHOUT incapp or death. If either of those two happen you loose the crystal and have to wait for another visit from the old man.

What do you do when you defeat the Sith with no incaps, I still have the Crystal in my inventory but the disk says "you must loot that object before extracting any information about it?" Is there a workaround?

Nevermind, when I logged out and then back in my journal said I had to wait for the old man again. I guess thats what I do. Ha.

You have a bug my man. To fix this, destroy the datapad and wait for another sith attack. Rinse and Repeat until you get a workable datapad.
