I need help with the old man/sith shadow quest.

After the old man visited I knew I would need help to defeat the sith shadows, since I am only CL60. I was shuttling around with a friend, when the shadows jumped me. My friend was still loading into the new area from the shuttle trip, and i was incapped in 2-3 shots, before I even really knew what was happening. The sith called back something about taking my crystal. When my friend finished loading, he healed me and we ran after the sith. After we killed them, I looted them hoping to find my crystal along with the datapad for the sith camp. I found the datapad, but no crystal! I was unable to read the datapad, I assume because I didn't have the crystal.

My friend told me that I'd have to start over, delete the datapad and wait for the old man to come again. Fortunately he came within an hour. I spent many hours after that with friends waiting for the sith to come again. They never did. Finally i decided to look through my completed quests, and i saw the sith ambush listed there! No wonder they weren't turning up! So now I'm stuck! I have no datapad, and no way to find the sith camp.

I've submitted a bug report, but not once have I ever received any help from CSRs while I've been playing the game. What should I do now?!
