Thread: Does not taking certain FS skills actually gimp you?

Like if you didn't do Melee Accuracy or Melee speed, how much of a difference do these make to a Jedi? Trying to figure out exactly which skills to unlock, and I'm not sure how much +20 melee Acc or speed add in terms of overall damage.

The problem I'm faced with is choosing between +12 Ranged defense and +20 Melee Acc, both of which seem invaluable to a Jedi.

I will just put in my opinion real quick here for ya

Get whatever the 6 fastest branches for you are. NEVER skip a phase unless you are willing to wait.

If you really want jedi then simply get the 6 fastest you can get that you like and once you unlock you can always come back to the village and change your skills later. You might as well be on your way to getting jedi exp while you wait instead of just sitting around? This is all assuming that you want Jedi now and aren't willing to wait. Otherwise do whatever you like and if it doesn;t work just take the time to bank more FS exp and change it.

Many people would say that those are two of only about 4 or so skills that are actually useful to a jedi. I'm curious why you are taking only one of them...what are the four skills that you found more important? Anyway, between the two I'd say Ranged Defense may be more important because of the threat of BHs.

It's a simple matter of Melee Accuracy and Ranged defense being both in phase 3. I have to make the decision unless I want to wait an extra 6 weeks to unlock (because I came in on phase 1).

So I either wait 6 more weeks, or take just one of those two, and I agree they are both very, very useful.

I'm in the same kind of situation as you (not wanting to wait for the skills I really want). Here's what I'm doing, it may help you.

Since you can bank i think 5m xp in each of your 3 force xp types. Go ahead and grind out extra xp now before unlocking. Grind out the xp you will need when phase 3 comes back around again another time. Then go ahead and take whatever skills you can now to unlock as soon as possible. Then, when the phase cycles back around you can pickup the tree you want a drop one you don't want as much. All you will need to do so is 4 free sp. I'm planning on grinding FS xp non-stop pretty much until I've unlocked regardless of how soon I reach the xp I NEED to unlock. That way I can switch trees as I choose later on simply by doing the quest to open the tree.

For example, I currently can't unlock any faster than 11 weeks or so due to waiting on phases. I can't unlock with the skills I actually want any faster than 17 weeks. So, I'm banking all the xp I need for the 6 trees I can get fastest as well as the 1 tree I have to wait an additional 6 weeks for. Then I can unlock in 11 weeks and trade trees 6 weeks later. Hope that makes sense.

Given how much easier it is to earn fs xp now (compared to before) I'd say just keep banking xp and do the quest when the phase rolls around. For example, I dodn't need anything in phase 2 but I still did the vehicle control quest for the buff crystal and because I didn't want to wait till phase 4 to unlock my 6th tree. I'll unlock in P3 and start my paddy trials and then when p4 rolls around, do basically a 7th quest and drop one of the 6 I had previously unlocked.

I have the xp banked to finish the trees I need for Jedi (thanks to 4x xp!!!!) so perhaps I'll do this. If I do that, then come back and train the skill 6weeks later (after getting Jedi) I'll have Ranged Defense, Melee Defense, melee Speed, and Melee Accuracy. Not a bad idea. THanks!

I would suggest Accuracy. Even though the total mod is relatively low (+12), at least you can buy the Ranged Defense mods in BE clothing and Aukuan rings.

I see i am not alone with my Dilemma

I wanted orignially to skill Melee and Raned Defense but that would keep me in the Village a coucple of Month longer, since i have not unlocked them yet. So i started to learn Ranged Acc. to have the 5th Tree and wait for Phase three to learn one of the Defenses (forgot if it is Ranged or Melee Def that is unlocked with Phase 3).

But it would sooth my poor Mind, if i wouldknow defenitely that i could drop and skill an other FS Tree without loosing the Jedi i have become by then. Is it possible to drop one of the FS Trees after becoming a Jedi and skilling a different Tree to have the 6 Trees that are needed ???

Someone please put myMind at Peace by giving me an answer to that

Oh and a 2nd Question: Does Ranged Acc do any good with the Lighsaberhtrow or only for the ranged Force skills ?

There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no death; there is the Force.

-from the Jedi Code-

I've not done it myself (yet) but i've read it here a couple times that as long as you take a 7th tree before dropping a tree you can trade one tree for another. You just have to always keep 6 trees.
