Thread: FYI Regarding XP i understand 90% of us know this....this is for noobs just incase!

This applies mainly to jedi, not sure about the other combat proffs. It has come to light that a few ppl believe that the "Purple Xp Writing" that appears over your head after you kill a creature is the amount you recieve. WRONG! You recieve a mear fraction of it....check your skill box's and see how much it has gone up by? Im betting my ass on it that it has only moved up by around 1000!!
So what is this "purple writing" then??? SOE's way of shafting us? Out of sight, out of mind? Are they hoping the subterfuge will last or something?
I think this purple crap should be removed at the very least, it hasnt even been addressed by a single member of SOE properly.
Why is that the paying customers of the game have to find these things out? This has ruined the game!

Don't bother making new posts about this experience nerf just sign the Petition for XP and hope they answer our prayers.

Dont agree with your points minus one... I hate the purple thing...
I cant tell how much exp I get anymore without doing maths....why cant the game just tell me and make it alot easier to work out your exp gain rate rather than all this purple bull%^&*.
Not to mention it only shows combat exp... I cant find out how much medical or whatever other type of exp im grinding im getting... stupid move by the dev's stupid damn move.

I receive the displayed amount when I grind solo. Verified and re-verified.

The purple writing to me reads sometimes says "Screw you! Just quit, and go off and play WOW!!" Other times it says "Don't bother with Jedi, go play some other profession, realise its bugged, then quit, and go off and play WOW!" Then other times it says "Why not try some content quest? Then you'll realise you can't complete them, as they're bugged, so quit, and go off and play WOW!"

I have a WoW account. I was skepticle at first (I thought the graphics were a little too bubbly/cartoony), but I tried out beta when they had open-beta testing and soon found myself parked outside of an EB Games on release day (night)waiting to get my copy. It is a really good game. SWG has it's high points...most of which revolve around the fact that it is Star Wars, but as far as functionality and customer support there is no comparison; WoW soars above SWG.

WOW, SOE sure does a lot of advertising for WoW. I mean, just WOW!, it's like WoW all over the place. I read this and think WOW WoW must be great!

lol yeah just watch out next time ur fighting and theres gunfire and smoke and death all over the place for the 0.1 sec long flash of "BUY WOW NOW!" flickering on ur screen. trust me its there..

I did find myself going to the WoW website the other day. Looks like SWG with Orcs n' Goblins n' magic spells, etc...

wouldbe interesting to see what the combat system and xp business is in that, whether they have learned anything from swg or just made the same old mess in a different galaxy far far away.
