Well I did not answer his question and it took no time at all which is considerably shorter than the 10 seconds it took you to answer it 
I've seen another post from you like this one and in most cases people here will answer questions, but you aren't going to win on this subject. Speaking only for myself, I have no problem answering peoples questions, however, when other people have spent a lot of time and effort putting together documentation to answer just these types of questions then I would be doing those people great disservice by not pointing new people to that information. If they read it and have questions then fine ask away, but if they are too lazy to read and educate themselves then they only get what they deserve imo.

Surprising as it may seem to a lot of people, it can be quite intimidating posting messages on a forum for fear of breaking some unwritten code of conduct. When some people react as they do (and please note I'm not including you in this) it could put people off posting so much in the future.
I'm not looking to win anything, I'm just sticking up for those who ask questions, after all, we were all new to the forum at some stage or another.
Well I would guess some don't know the answer since they can't seem to provide it, are too lazy to point them to the stickies, or just get off on acting like an idiot and making a nice everlasting impression that everyone is like they are (like Mr. Replay and spell checker) like they've never made type-o's.
They are apparently also too ignorant to comprehend that many don't speak English as their primary language and as such should be allowed some leeway. After all, how many languages to you speak and write fluently? I only speak and write one and at times I could debate whether or not I am really fluent lol. As lame as it may be, some may just post stupid replies just to increase their post count, some because it is Friday, some because it is hereditary, the planets are aligned just-so, etc.
Alas these people will thrive and spread and reproduce much like cockroaches and continue the degradation of the gene pool. The folks on the forums that give a crap will answer them or point them in the right direction so hopefully these are the people that will leave the stronger impression.
