I for one think the player base will remain adequate and will probably jump up a bit after the expansion & episode 3. Whether or not it's worth it is really up to you. I would try to get my own Jedi even if I was the only player left on my server (no Bounty Hunters hehe). Anyway, I don't think player population should even be a consideration at this stage in the game - there are plenty of people playing and depending on what server you are on you might find quite the annoying lag inspiring numbers that some live for
I think the CU will be a much needed steroid for the currently stagnant GCW. I believe we will see a lot more PvP because like in the launch days people will be evenly matched for the most part and PvP will be fun again. We'll see tho

Hello all, I am coming back to SWG after leaving in august of '03. I am mainly coming back for the space expansion, but I am also looking at becoming a dark jedi.
My main question would be this: by the time I reach dark jedi knight will it be worth the effort that will be needed to get there? The CU seems like it will make grinding harder (not making assumptions, but by making the game more group focused this is imo unavoidable)
In addition I have heard it takes 18 weeks to even reach padawan. In the amount of time it takes for me to get to knight do you guys think that there will be enough players to keep the game fun? The game even right now is much more empty than it was back in '03 but I was thinking that the CU and new expansion would bring people in that are bored with other mmorpgs, does anyone think this is the case? Or is SWG slowly fading away only to be given the final K-O by some of the new mmorpgs coming out?
Sorry if this is a topic that is brought up a lot but I really want to see what other people think before I make the considerable time commitment that jedi requires. Thanks in advance.

I would go jedi (since I am) even though the CU is coming, though I am against it for the most part, Jedi will still be fun I think because of the whole notion of being one. Thats my 2 cents so i guess my answer is, Go for it!
