Two questions realy.I was looking at TKA to go with my rifle skill sence it seems to have the best melee-range Defence but.....

1 - Do you keep the +defence when you have a gun in your hand or only if unarmed

2 - Is melee-range defence even worth worring about

Tx for the help

I believe you keep "Defense" abilities no matter what, but the "Toughness" bonuses (Such as Unarmed Toughness) are only in effect when fighting with that particular style.

Ok i have a fewbut not many. As far as the skill tree goes, can i master all the skills in more then one profession to the master level and above? I think i read some where that you can master 3 professions. will I have points left to go up the tree? Say I am a marksmen. I master everything in the tree not just one side of the tree. From there I can goto bountyhunter. But If i have scout skills also mastered the whole tree and artisans whole tree can I go to the master level? or above them? In other words if i have all the skills in each tree can I goto arcitect, bounty hunter, ranger? or will all the skill points be used? I have alot of skills I am not cashing in on cause i dont know if i will have the points to get higher in the game. thanks

BH requires you to master marksman and master scout, and mastering BH will leave you with very few skill points left over, maybe 20-30. That's enough to get novice CH or novice medic, but you'd be a weak CH or a weak medic.

You could be a BH and architect, but you wouldn't have very many skill points left over and thus wouldn't be able to build very many buildings.

My interpretation of your post is that you're basically asking us to add up the points for you and see what's possible. I recommend you just play and see what you like, and you'll run out of skill points before too long, and then you'll have to make a decision of what to keep and what to get rid of.

I started out doing weaponsmith, but I decided togo carbineer and combat medic. I enjoy elite carbine attacks and crafting medicine, and combat medic requires a large investment before you see any significant returns (my poison A packs are a joke).

Thus I am ditching weaponsmith and getting back the 21 skill points I have invested to spend on something I enjoy more.

I recommend you just go with the flow, and do what you like. Be a ranger for a while, and if you don't like it, ditch it.

Not sure about architect, but I've found that weaponsmith isall-or-nothing... either I grind up to make some useful weapons, get a factory, and invest in some means of acquiring massive amounts of high end resources, or I don't get anything out of it. I was able to make bowcasters, weapon upgrade kits, and very rarely sell a gun for maybe 1k (even then player would complain about the prices, since my only customers are brand newbies). Through my stay as a weaponsmith, i've noticed that I've never made more money selling stuff then I could have by running missions in that time. Sicne I don't particularly enjoy crafting DLT20's and such, I decided the profession wasn't for me.

Hope this info helps.

Mastering any of the six starting professions takes 77 skill points. Mastering any of the advanced professions takes 63. Since 63 x 3 = 189 and you only have 250 points to work with, you will never be able to master more than 3 professions.

If you want to play around to see what you can do, check out the SWG Profession Calculator which someone over at swgcraft.com developed. (They have some other nifty tools over there too.) Check http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~swgcraft/tools.php.

I've read in a FAQ that the FS Melee Accuracy and FS Melee Speed are 'worthless' to take if you're going to be a MLS. But I don't see that one-hand ls accuracy is capped. How do the skills work?

In the template I'm considering, I see I would have the following (just considering speed, for instance):

Combat Prowess

General Melee Speed +12

Master Lightsaber

One-handed Lightsaber Speed +100

General Melee Speed +20

This would only give me 1H +100, GMS +32. How come it's said that the CP GMS is worthless?

Also, does Saber toss use Melee Accuracy or Ranged?
