Ok, heres the deal. The grind is killing me so I figured I would get 4 or 5 combat/reflex boxes and then grind out master dancer for a tree or two in senses. Dance converts at 10:1. A friend told me a master dancer caps at 900k and this can be accomplished in approx 15 hrs. This person told me that 11 trips to the village will fill a tree.

Anyone dance their way to jedi? If so, what was your experiences?

Hey there!

I was going to go for 2 trees with Musician. But I am not sure about the information told by your friend. With my experience, it is taking very long atm for me to advance.

I know a person though that went Jedi w/ Dancer and I'll get her name ASAP for you. I'm sure she has more detailed information.

I also decided to drop the Heightened Senses and go for 2 trees combat. My remaining for 4 trees are for crafting.

It is possible i know at 3x4x dancer i can in a full group with a 15% xp buff using exotic 2 cap 900k dance xp and 300k ent xp every 15 hours. But when your group drops or you cant get a group it will take alot longer.

Takes roughly 11 trips to do 1 branch. You get 120k fs xp per trip.

Im dancing my way to senses master right now and many others have done it before.

you can also just dance right there in the village and gain xp. granted you won't be able to get the inspiration buffs, unless you set up a camp outside the village to buff, but it will save you the trips to the village. a couple of friends and i are at the village right now dancing away.

That's a pretty nice idea but you would most definately have to dance at the Village. Less trips=less repairs on vehicles But once you havesome combat professions, it's kind of hard to switch over and then back again for the trials and Mellichae and all.

repairs lol. Im not even halfway through my grind yet and ive allready pulled in about a half mill in tips. Dance in the village and you will probably have smaller groups if any and no tips. A full group and the ability to buff up dance xp overpowers no travel time.

so basicly here's what Ive gotten from you guys so far...

1. I dont need master dance, just 3x4x

2. If I play the game for fun (normal RP without dancing)and then go afk at night and while at work, I can get a full branch in approx 11 days with no effort whatsoever.

3. In these post CU times, an elete combat prof can be grinded out in 2 days, so lets say it will take 13 days to get my template back.

Anyone see how this is not a good idea?

And this would be the reason you see so many AFK dancers in the cantina, spamming requests for tips, and generally p***ing off the rest of the entertainment professionals by making it more difficult for those who actually want to be an Entertainer/Dancer/Musician to survive.

I always check with the performer by talkig to them via /tell first. If I don't get a response, they don't get a tip. If I can find an ATK performer they get double my normal tip and I will get my buff through them.

I was once a Master Entertainer/Master Musician until I realized that no matter how much effort I put into trying to entertain, I would be upstaged by the AFK-Macroer grinding for force or to make money for some Chinese credit farmer and standing in the doorway of the Cantina.

I sincerely hope they remove translating Dance or Musician experience to Force Experience, or put it at 35:1 or something. If you really have to take this root, at elast have some mercy on those who play in the profession and go do your dancing/musicplaying in a private house.

As someone grinding up the senses branches I completely agree with you about not intruding upon the "real" entertainers ability to prosper and make credits. That is why no where in my macro do I have anything about asking for tips, and why I will only dance off in one of the side rooms. The only reason I will come to a cantina at all isbecause it is easier to find agroup and to get buffed. If not for that I would spend ALL my time dancing in the village. I am only passing through this profession on my way towards my goal, so I have no desire to infringe upon people that have chosen this as their final profession.

Go Master Image Designer.

First of all, you can grind it out in a few hours. Faster if you have a friend who runs a /ui action defaultButton macro to repeat and accept your changes (eye color, eye color, eye color, and keep going). Caution: /ui action defaultButton is a powerful command - any window popped up with be "clicked" on with this command, including but not limited to respec windows, duel challenges, etc. Most default to "no" when using this command. Just fair warning.

Second, you can grind like crazy while at the keyboard doing eye color changes to yourself again and again - no grouping or AFK'ing required. Again, faster if you have an ID victim. You will cap xp in no time.

Third, it will be a lot faster than AFK'ing dance and music and you won't annoy the people who now play those professions live because profession-specific buffs need to be done live.

Fourth, Image Design converts at 7:1, better than 10:1 - and if you can Master it in a few hours, think of how fast you can rake in Senses xp.

Fifth, you can do this in the Village right next to Paemos. Log in, change your eye color for a few hours, make the xp that would have taken you many more hours grinding Dancer or Musician. Granted, you can't AFK Image Design, but getting the branch will feel a lot more satisfying when you've really taken the time to work on it instead of leaving your computer going at night.

Finally, should you actually decide to AFK Dancer or Musician, just let your character run...don't put annoying spam in the macro. Once every hour of "If I'm not in a group, please invite me" would probably be the only acceptable thing...and even that's a stretch. AFK spammers in cantinas are really annoying.

As for myself, I ground out 3 branches of Senses xp doing Creature Handler, and had a ball doing so.

By the way:

900,000 Dance/Music xp converted at 10:1 is 90,000 FS Senses xp.

900,000 Image Designer xp converted at 7:1 is over 128,000 FS Senses xp.

And 900k of ID xp racks up pretty darn fast.

maybe i should have mentioned this in the beginning...

My origional template on this server was dancer/id. with this in mind, i am well aware of the needs and pet peves of the ent community. trust me, i dont need credits and wont be begging for them. most likely i will be dancing at the starport by the village anyway. i would never spam while afk, nor would i do anything to hurt the "real" entertainers.
